Consider other brands as well, Velodyne, SVS, av123 etc.
The DC2's can go deep, well enough for most CDs. Very revealing, clean and focused sound. I've used them without subs.:p
You'd be hard pressed to find better speakers at their price range.:D
The Pioneer Elite sc09tx is more like separates welded together. :)
Good call. The Sharp TV has banding issues and if you get those they're a lot worst than flash lighting.:D
Here is the instructions to get to the service menu to find out if it has banding issues, this is taken from the AVS forum:
For Sharp LCD TV
Enter service menu by first unplugging set, then while...
Sharp has prevailing banding issues on most of their line. If you're sensitive to them go with another brand. They are very obvious in dark, gray and bluish scenes, also in panning scenes....
I believe as the A/V gear become more sophisticated, the impact of the power cord diminishes. But the speaker cables and IC's still deliver.
If you're not placing these pricey ic's between your amp and pre-amp a lot of these cables will add little to you're system.:p
The rmb-1077 is $1,999 now. It's actually a 200watt/channel amp but rotel did not like it's performance at that level so it was downgraded to 100watt/channel....
Late 90's?
What matters is detail and neutrality, everything else is hype.
I used to set my speakers to small because the details were being lost. When I got the new cables I have now set them to large...
Skeptics always argue it's purely psychological due to price and aesthetic factors. But I've tested $50.00 cables that out perform $400 cables. So pricing aside, cables do make a difference but you...
and with the 1092 you don't need to worry about hard to drive speakers. :)
At these 1092 levels it's more a matter of personal taste rather than quality and performance.
Try some Xindak's FA-1...
I think more and more recent releases are using the rear channels these day. Even TV series with 5.1 for dvd.
Stargate Atlantis season2, the daedalus' ship hum is produced by the rear speakers.
The thing is, when you start out with a relatively low end set-up, optical, analog, coax etc, don't sound so different. Optical may even have a slight edge over analog with all the noise affecting...
Most of the complaints with the 9.8 is related to 2 channel. That's why I would recommend a dedicated 2 channel pre. :)
You could also take a different none digital processing path. Get 3 descent...
It will depend on the stuff you connect with the pre-pro. Power amp, interconnects, cables etc.
If you're not going hi-def yet, you should stay with your SR8001 :)
Heres a review link for the D2;

Some would recommend the Integra DTC 9.8 instead. Performance is close to the D2 for...
I'm having trepidations with the upcoming Pioneer Elite since it uses 200watt B&O D class modules. These module may still be the old version that Rotel uses for the 1077.
Rotel did not like their...
It's a Velodyne of course it will sound great :p
It's not as accurate as the spl's but it plays louder than the spl1500. It's a solid HT sub.:D
This is a solid performer when it comes to analog. If you stick with analog connections and let the player do all the decoding the 1066 can give you years of enjoyment.
As a stereo pre-amp, some...
I thought it weird that Tannoy doesn't include the super tweeters on the prestige line as standard. Wish I could get a chance to hear one of those. :)
The Sensys DC1's are amazing bookshelfs....
The thing I love about Tannoy Dual Concentrics is how revealing they are. Every little tweak you make with the system from amps to cables are made obvious in the sound.;)
Personally, I think...
I only have the Sensys DC's and they still deliver. :)
I remember when I first got to test the DC2's. The store let me demo them for a week or so, swapping out the Lsi9's.
At first, I thought they were just ok but I felt the polks where better. After...
