If I am bypassing the DAC in the airport express or Sonos (for example) should there be a sonic difference between the two?
I have primarily a digital streaming setup in my home. I have an apple computer (using iTunes) as well as apple devices such as an iPhone and iPad. I enjoy streaming my music from my computer (apple...
According to this thread: http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?96308-So-your-wondering-about-Power-Cords&highlight=Magic+power there were quite a few members who felt like they heard a...
There's got to be something to these power cords the way people talk about them.
Well, Frank does offer a 30 day guarantee so I guess if there isn't much difference between my stock cables and his, I can always send them back.
I ended up ordering a Signal cable magic cord as well as a Signal cable digital toslink. I will be interested to hear the improvements in sound quality.
Any chance either of these cables would change the signature of the sound to be too "bright"? As you all know I am sure, the RTI A7s do tend to be a bit bright as is.
I was wondering if it would be worthwhile to upgrade my power cord. I currently have an NAD 356BEE with built-in DAC and Polk RTI A7 speakers using Signal cable ultra wiring.
Would it be worth...
I appreciate the replies. I guess I will just play around with them and go from there.
I have a pair of RTI A7s paired with an NAD 356DAC amp. I am really enjoying this pairing but was curious about speaker placement. What is the optimal distance from the wall and distance from each...
Yes.
I wanted to report that I found a great deal on a NAD 356DAC and couldn't resist. The NAD should be delivered next week and will be used with my Polk RTI A7s. Can't wait to hear the difference...
What if I went with a 2 channel integrated amp such as the NAD 356 or Cambridge 650/651? Would either of these sound better than my Onkyo?
Does the NAD and/or Cambridge have a warm sound signature?
Would the NAD C372 be better or up to par with the NAD 375BEE?
I actually haven't listened to any of them and am solely going off of recommendations in this as well as other forums. I understand the A7s can be a little bright and its a good idea to pair them...
Music Hall A15.2
Outlaw RR2150
Harmon Kardon 3490
NAD C 356BEE
Cambridge audio 650/651A
Marantz PM6004
From the integrates amps I am looking at, the wattage ranges from 50-100 watts. Is that enough to power the A7s? I was at a local hi-fi shop the other day and they mentioned that wattage doesn't...
Does the NAD have better synergy than the Cambridge?
I have always been curious about a tube amp, however would like to stay within a certain budget around $500 new/used.
I have another thread in the digital forum that originally started out discussing DACs, but got redirected into discussing integrated amps. Rather than continue that thread I thought I would start a...
There is actually a Music Hall 15.2 integrated amp on Audiogon for $388. I was really considering it, but noticed that it doesn't do Speaker A and B. I have a pair of outdoor speakers that are...
Doing a quick search on the forums, some of the recommendations were:
Music Hall A15.2
Outlaw RR2150
Harmon Kardon 3390
I would definitely be interested in an integrated amp as I never listen to AM/FM.
Is it possible to get into an integrated amp for less than $500 new or used??
Anything you could recomend to get me started? I am really interested in a "best bang for the buck" setup. I am not in a position currently to be spending thousands and thousands of $ :)
My Onkyo 606 doesn't have pre-outs so even if I wanted to I wouldn't be able to add an amp. Having said that, would it be better to get a better receiver vs. a lower end receiver with pre-outs and...
