Unfortunately your pre-amp doesn't have a variable cap setting, only a resistive setting. I have used the cap setting on my pre-amp to tone down the highs to my liking.

Does your phono pre-amp have the ability to alter the capacitive loading, if so you can try that to see if you get your highs back.
No I haven't contacted VPI, but I have followed numerous threads regarding this issue on Audio Karma. Posters at AK who have contacted VPI have either been walked through the fix or been told to send...
I'm still debating if I want to apply some additional Locktite (blue instead of red) making sure that this time it makes its way into the threads. I have only had to do it once in the two months I...
nspindel - the version I have apparently had the pins lengthened to address this issue and yet I had a problem. The tonearm will warn you if it is coming loose, keep an eye out for any additional...
I have an earlier version of the Traveler with the motor mounted on the side. Although the table is a great performer, keep an eye on the tightness of the inner tonearm pins, they can work loose and...
Total coffee snob here. First thing - acquire fresh whole bean coffee (lots of on-line vendors), grind it up in my Baratza Maestro and put it in the filter basket. Second - pour fresh filtered...
I own a Traveler and love it, one thing to keep in mind with the Traveler is the bearings in the gimbaled tonearm assembly - treat them very carefully. I actually had to return the first Traveler I...
The guy/gal had good taste in speakers - for critical listening we have Tyler Acoustics Linbrook Signature Monitors and when you want to destroy the neighborhood Ty's PD80's.
Yes you will be taking the tubes out of the signal path by using the Jolida's digital out, the Jolida now becomes a transport.
I've had my 1-piece Linbrook Signatures for about two years now, I bought them as trade-ins from Ty for what I now realize was a friggin killer price. I've been really happy with them - then I went...
You made the right choice buying from Jolida USA, I bought a JD-100 CD player from Jolida China that failed after 18 months and I was not able to get any service or email's returned from Jolida...
I'm currently running a Parasound 2250 New Classic and was wondering the same thing about moving to a Halo. Several months ago someone here told me it provided and little bit better dynamics and...
I recently installed an Ortofon 2M Blue on my new VPI Traveler; this involved the following 3 adjustments (after the cart was mounted):
VTA - Vertical Tracking Angle, on my Traveler this is set by...
I just got the Pro-Ject Tube Box DS which is the latest version of the Pro-Ject Tube Box SE II, I paid $700, so I'm thinking $400 is a fair price. The other thing is tubes - oh how wonderful they...
I'm eyeing some NOS Telefunken's from AudioTubes.com.
I recently acquired a Pro-Ject Tube Box DS, WOW this thing is sweet, huge soundstage and very dynamic, vocals will make you cry. For reference I was using an Art DJ Pre II prior to the Tube Box so...
I've also had some bad luck with new vinyl, a good cleaning helped, but I still had issues that I was not happy with. The thing that really strikes me is how much quiter some of the old (in great...
I listened to them recently at BB, initially the rep was running the matching subwoofer, when I ask him to kill the sub I was really disappointed with the bottom end. The specs say the -3db cutoff...
Your right about me not knowing what a $1000 to $1500 vinyl setup sounds like becuase I'm currently using a cheap early 80's Akia TT with a $39 ART DJ PRE II phono pre and it is making my Jolida CD...
And after spending all that money - me thinks a $1000 to $1500 vinyl setup probably still sounds better!
One other thing that just came to mind, the manual that the came with the defective Traveler differed from the manual I downloaded from the VPI website. The manual I downloaded mentions "the tonearm...
The tonearm for the Traveler was well packed in a separate box - I was aware of the bearings in the gimble assembly so I handled the tonearm with great care. The original Audio Karma poster quoted...
I received my VPI traveler today and unfortunately the tonearm was totally detached from the gimble assembly right out of the box (the above thread with the Audio Karma link has more on this). I was...
Yes the sound quality is there but you must keep in mind it takes some effort. First thing is clean scratch free records, the scratch free part can be a pain if buying used - expensive if new,...
