Fine as long as the amp's cooling surfaces are unobstructed.
Sounds like ignition bleed over - perhaps plug wire noise.
Blown VCs are more often caused by distortion and clipping than by pure overpower conditions.
The enclosure actually changes the behavior of the driver(s) and alters their impedance.
Unless the impedance is Way weird, any good speaker will match any good amp.
So this is not a case of Franken-Polk?
Bummer, I just read this and missed them...
Sometimes you can read numbers off of the connector pad.
