Not wishing to disrespect anyone's choices ... but the Marantz separates look really cool and sound really hot. They are the reason I've stayed with the 7s. Those speakers are absolutely 'driven to...
I have the same speakers (different sub only) and changed from a receiver to seperates a couple years ago. I was using an Onkyo 7007 receiver only, then added an NAD 5 channel power amp. My wife,...
"Hey Gulfstrings, have you taken the plunge yet?"
Not yet, Geoff4rfc We're having wood flooring put in the house so waiting until that's all done. Appreciate your comments - I am more of a music...
Not sure my figuring is so strange in that both speakers have a published range of power-acceptance with th 9s exceeding the 7s by more than 60% at the top end. I've added about 40% more output when...
Good stuff, thanks. Appears to be quite a range of power being supplied to those big beauties!
I'm asking because I've recently changed out my NAD amp for a Marantz MM7055 (sig below) and...
Saw those ... very nice. But they looked to be designed to accomodate the carpet spikes which I plan to remove. Don't want to risk them on (the wife's) new wood floors.
Considering trading out my A7s for a set of A9s. Huge power range spec on these 9s. What are you all using to drive your 9s?
Thanks.
Took one of the carpet spikes to Home Depot and was able to match the thread pattern to 'feet' with a contact layer of a "felt-like" material beneath a white, round piece of plastic topped off with a...
Having wood floors installed and need to replace the carpet spikes on my A7s with something that won't scratch but still look nice.
Any advice?
Thanks.
Some good news! Following my wife's (and chumlie's) good advice, I found my way to an engineer/customer service type guy at NAD (Lenbrook America) and went over the issues I've had with this amp,...
New stuff not here! Received my new AV7005 pre/pro right on time but the amp has been back ordered! I'm purchasing thru Crutchfield but have checked Audio Advisor and they can't get their shipment...
Msabot1 -
Don't think that's a problem.. The amp that went this time was powering a rear surround. The first to go was powering the right front ... at least 6 ft from the Panamax.
I 'grilled'...
chumlie -
My wife also suggested I contact their US rep and tell him about these issues and agree you both are giving good advice. Will call after holidays.
NAD back from the shop. Turns out the #4 amp is shot. That's the 2nd time an amp has blown and the first time a component I've owned has had a failure.
It's being replaced. I can't believe all...
Took my NAD amp back to the shop again this week. Maybe nothing serious, but a buzz had developed in my system and there's a big pop every time I power up. Not too sure what all is going on but,...
NAD's going to the shop. Will post results ...
'Skater - Appreciate the input but I've no idea how to introduce a battery-powered music source into the amp. I mean the NAD has no other inputs other than the 5 cable inputs from the preamp (in...
With all components powered up I have a buzz coming from both front and the middle speakers. The buzz does not react to volume changes and I don't hear it in the surrounds.
I was thinking that...
As an "old guy" I can remember 3D in our neighborhood theater when a kid ... maybe The Blob (?) 3D came around about every ten/fifteen years or so to not much more than a narrow fan base and...
Replaced the Pioneer BDP320 with this Oppo and the improved load speed alone makes me smile. Build quality is as expected - even the remote has a great feel. Picture as expected ... still trying to...
Have now watched Prince of Persia and Independence Day on the bedroom system and have not changed my mind about the 505. I find it as advertised - a good bang for the buck and much more effective...
I lost a channel on my NAD T955 while it was still under warranty. The piece was purchased from Audio Advisors and with one phone call to them I was given the name, address and authorization to take...
Alright! The 505 is in place and kickin! So far, I've listened to a Bob James and Chris Rea CD and thought the bass tones were warm and clean. Started out with the volume control (LFE utilized) at...
Have those 111s stacked now but only powering one. No room for "more stuff" in the room. Wife's hoping for a net reduction and whatever she wants ...
Still curious about where all these 505s...
Have been slowly upgrading the bedroom system with budget pieces. Recent Pioneer 821, refurbed Sony BDP with built-in WiFi and now replacing the (actually have 2) PSW111 with the 505. Never heard...
