I went w/ the 1095. Looking forward to it getting here.
Just getting into separates (Rotel pre/pro to Rotel amp) My DVD/CD player has optical and coax digital out. Which do you think I should select to hook up to the pre/pro? I read somewhere that coax...
Isn't there a dock that has a digital audio out so you can let the pre/pro do the decoding for you? I would think that would be mich better than outputing the signal through RCA or a mini.
Know...
Well my CD's weren't stolen from my McMasion or my Jaguar........
They were in my truck and we were in the process of moving.
They were in the back of the truck in a box and secure....so I...
OK good point.....it depends.
Here is part of my dilemma. I would think that a 2 ch pre would sound better doing 2 ch than a 7.1 doing 2 ch listening to music because you would think the Rotel guys...
Well here's another newbie post from Pwrmx24......geez.
Ok. Thanks for all the help here on the posts.
Hopefully I can be as helpful someday....
If you had the $$ would you buy a seperate 2...
Cfrizz,
The 1095 and 1080 are both 200wpc @ 8ohm only one is 2 ch and the other 5.
Thanks for the help. I guess my ? still is if you had to choose betweeen a damping factor of 1000 or 400 which...
I am going to go listen to the 1095 and 1080 on saturday.
Stats are one thing but listening is another.
I noticed that the only difference in the stats is the 1080 has a damping factor is 1000...
OK thanks.
Just a point of clarification. (since I'm new to seperates) What makes the amp analog? Is any amp w/ torodial transformers analog?
If so then the 1095 and 1080 are both...
Hey I 've posted several new threads in the last couple of days and I can't say thanks enough for the words back...
I read somewhere that Rotel shifted from analog to digital amplification.
...
I posted this in the speakers forum by accident I think it belongs in elcetronics....if anybody has some words of help that'd be great thanks...
I plan on going to listen to some amps at the...
I plan on going to listen to some amps at the store.
I have Lsi15's on the way but they don't have them at the stereo store I am going to. (I hope they don't get shipping damage by DHL from Frys). ...
Problem is trying to find a rcvr that will run the non-amped center speaker on 4 ohms.
My rears are 8 ohms (right now) and I guess that's OK for a while since they will be run directly from the...
anybody know .....
If I get a two channel amp and a surround channel preamp will I be able to add the other channels later via a separate amp or is it best to just get the 5.1 amp now?
I'm...
OK, after reading some more, I got it now.
Can we close this thread?
Well at the risk of being laughed off the forum...here are some stupid questions.
I have the Lsi15's being shipped to me.
I'm leaning towards buying a 200 W (@ 8ohm but certified for 4 Ohm) 5...
I emailed Onkyo on the 705 and they replied:
Yes you may use 4 Ohm speakers. There is a setting is the SP Config where you can change the impedance.
This information is all on page # 46 of...
Saved some $$ so I can get a decent amp....I hope.
Thanks for the advice from all. I'm looking around on the net for some of the recommended amps for these speakers and don't see a lot of places...
Bought them at Fry's. Looks like they are on sale and it's the best price I could find.
I didn't order a sub with them but will check it out once I get my electronics settled.
I do very little HT so maybe the 15's will work fine for me w/out the sub.
Well I just ordered the Lsi15's.
Maybe a snap decision but with all the great reviews they've been getting I can't see how I can go wrong.
Now I'll be searching for what to drive them with.....
Thanks to all for the replies.
So I think, for me, I am down to the Lsi15's or the Lsi9's and either way I go getting a sub sounds like a good idea.
I've had my bookshelfs for so long I guess I...
I was also wondering if the 15's or 25's would be too big for my living room.
The Lsi9's paired w/ say a DSW Pro 500 subwoofer would be more flexible if I move to a new home.
Thanks for the reply. Do you mind elaborating on why you like the 15's over the 25's. Wouldn't the powered subwoofer give better response?
The Crutchfield folks tell me the Onkyo 705 can power 4...
