Have you considered some simple DIY H-frame subs? One under each speaker could work well as stands without taking up much space. They wouldn't hit rock bottom or shake the walls but being dipole...
Looks great Luther. You always do some amazing work and I'm sure it sounds as good as it looks.
With the crossover and tweeter mounted the way they are I wouldn't really have to damage the speakers. I could easily bypass the xo and tweet, and I already have the other parts laying around. It...
I have a pair of RTA-12s that I've been meaning to experiment with. One such experiment is to try a compression driver and horn or waveguide with an active crossover and bi-amping. Has anybody ever...
I always wanted to try a pair of the 360s on a different speaker and crossover than the Optimus or RCAs
Considering the price I would go give them a listen. If you have a tube amp bring it. I bought and sold an ugly pair a few years ago. I wish I hadn't now but one needed a woofer anyways and I...
Altec Lansing A-7 or better.
That's one of his few that I don't have on vinyl but the cd isn't that bad.
I also suggest Telarc recordings of live orchestral music.
I just looked up the zip code and subwoofer via google. Too far.
Pics and general location would help your sale.
I'll send you my address. You can store them here for as long as I like. Free bump for some great speakers.
Since everything tastes like chicken, just eat something cheaper.
Wow. I was reading the replies and noticed the members, then noticed the dates.
On a similar note. I went to an interview for a better position at my work the other day. At the end I was asked...
Congrats on a great snag. They love power and a solid wall close behind them. I always wanted to try a pair turned around as midranges in a tri-amp set up. I've also wondered how a Carver sonic...
They should go great together. The 891A isn't power hungry but could use more power than the Technics will provide. I've not used that particular combo but have a few Altec speakers and have used...
How does it sound with a different source such as FM?
At that price it's good enough for great sounding stuff. Some might need to go to a quality tech in order to make it better than most stuff produced today but I'll leave that up to you.
Has anybody heard of such an animal? I mean Conrad Johnson, Krell, Audio Research type stuff used in the recording process. Tubes are great but not required. Any idea on the interconnects used?
That is a great deal on the speakers too. Sony speakers? YES!
Gotta love those Sherwood tuners.
Thanks for the bump. CP members get a discount.
Tour2Ma? Wow! I've missed you buddy.
Steve - Until I can find a RCM that is both more convenient and economical I will continue to use a fabric steamer that I bought from the thrift store and...
Thank you again Mr. Grand for a very smooth transaction amongst friends. I still haven't connected my TT since AlleyCat needed one for his room at the fest before last.
If you lived closer I would forget my IB sub plans.
That's a great deal on some very fair speakers.
