Hm, the records are shiny and pristine looking. They don't really look dirty at all. Would distilled water and alcohol be harmful to the record? I'll take a look at one of those cleaning products as...
Also, are these sleeves any good? Are there better for the price?

Hey guys. So recently I bought a few pieces of used vinyl and based on the way they were stored, some of them have a lot of static charge on the surface. While playing them, I'm hearing cracks and...
George do you happen to still have these held for me?
Dire Straits – Bros in Arms (Shiny, extremest of light wear WB, B)
Michael Jackson – Thriller (Shiny, EXTREME light wear Epic, B) $5
...
The only thing I'm not quite sure about is how high the tonearm should be. Which part of the cartridge should be parallel to the record?
Yup thanks bill. I currently have it set at 1.75g (brush down) and anti-skate at 1.25. :)
Just wanted to give you guys an update. The M97xE finally came and I got it installed and aligned with the Stevenson Arc protractor. I gotta say I really dig the stabilizer brush on the Shure. It...

I'm interested in these so far. Please hold for me. Adding...
If you think full range is too much, and 80hz is too little, then you should start lowering the crossover in increments of 10 until you find the balance you like (starting with 70hz)
Setting the crossover to 60hz would give your RTi12's some more room to flex their muscles, while still giving your sub a good workout with all content 60hz and below. I set my RC-70's to 60hz...
I would recommend 60hz
Is that Clearaudio twister clamp the cheapest one I should go for? That's a lot of money for me to put down on a piece of metal
Hey guys, just got the turntable set up and starting playing a record. Sounds pretty good! The thing I noticed right away with the SC35C cartridge is that mids are a bit muddy and it lacks high end...
A little hard to find these days, but made to last :)
I use a POA-2200 and I love it. Crisp clean sound. Denon made really great amps back in the day
maybe next time :)
Looks like J&R will get their next shipment of Shure M97xE in May, but they're taking orders now for them. If anyone is interested they should put in an order now. :)
Now that I've ordered a cartridge, what's the next best thing to improve performance? Go with a Herbies slipmat? Since the knock against direct drive turntables is motor noise, would that be the next...
This should sound great! That's all the power the RTi12's will ever need. Emotiva makes great stuff
Alright guys, you have convinced me to get a new cartridge haha. I placed an order for the M97xE at JR.com for $57 after bing. It's temporarily out of stock so I hope it comes soon.
Thanks for all...
While I sort out which stylus I want to upgrade to, would the Shure SC35C be ok to listen with for now? Or would it put unnecessary wear on the vinyl? Thanks!
Please PM me if you have one for sale with price and condition. Thanks!!
Hm... I might be able to get a M97xE for around $60... but the Denon is like $180. Really worth 3x the price?
Wow you guys are all bad influences!! Haha
