I have a pair of Cary Audio
Additional question? If I'm using a tube amp, will it sound better hooked up to a tube pre vs. a SS pre? I am assuming that it will.
I may be crazy. I understand that it is going to be difficult, to impossible to find one at that price range with those features. That's why I am asking the very knowledgeable people here.
I'm looking for a tube preamp, with these requirements.
1) Budget priced and inexpensive, under 200.00 used.
2) 2 to 3 inputs and 2 outputs.
3) remote for the volume control.
This will be...
Same here, but I have a pair of DIY JL 12W7. Not the best, but good enough for now. I was thinking of butt kickers, but decided to put the money into dual subs.
I agree, it might be the caps discharging. I also turn off the pre/receiver first, then the amp.
The odd thing is that I only hear the whine from the B&W's, not the other brands of speakers I...
The amp was recently repaired. Had all the 3 bias and 3 diodes replaced to fix a heating issue. I took it back to the shop and was told that there was nothing wrong with it. Turns out this only...
Thats exactly how I turn off my system. The pre first, then the amp goes off. It just came back from the shop. Had to replace the biases to fix a heat issue. It may have to go back.
I need some help. Does anyone know if the whinning noise caused by my amps capacitors discharging after being turned off damage my speakers? Thanks in advance.
The amp I have is a Acurus A200x3. I don't think the amp was on when I removed the cables.
I'm having issues with my amp. First issue is that when I remove the RCA connections, right after the amp has been on, I get a buzzing noise. Second issue is that when I turn the amp off, a minute...
Nevermind. I listened to the center again, and could not hear any issues. I think I had it hooked up incorrectly. Please remove this thread if needed.
I'm still looking for a MW 7015. It's the outside driver.
I need some help using the 12 volt trigger on my Onkyo TX NR708. What I want to do is turn on the Onkyo with my Harmony remote and have it turn on my Panamax M5300-EX switched outlets automatically....
So lets say that I need a Behringer DSP1124P. Can I use a SMS-1 to auto calibrate my two subs, then use those values from the SMS-1 to set the DSP1124P?
Agreed..... But I can get BFD for about 40.00 used.
I meant to say.....I assume that by using a SMS-1 or BFD, it would not make my subs sound worse.
I have not measured. I'm not sure if I even need external equalization. But I have a Onkyo with Audyssey. I now want to use Audyssey, which I thought EQ'd my sub along with speakers. If the...
I'm now thinking that I might get a Behringer BFD. From what I've read, it's cheaper, but it's more difficult to set up.
So they are similar, but I still will need to get a SMS-1. I was hoping that I would not have to get a SMS-1.
Is using Audyssey MultEQ for my sub, the same as using a Velodyne SMS-1? Or are they totally different.
I'll sugguest he go with 15's.
Thanks everyone for the input and suggestions.
If there are any other suggestions, I would like to read them.
Not sure what the max size of the box will be. I 'm sure he does not want to go with 18's, but I could be wrong.
Well he has a Velodyne SMS-1, so I think that should correct the dips and peaks. I know very little to nothing in regards to the SMS-1, but I think it's supposed to fix those issues?
