Bingo! The tweeter in that series with the 150s, 70s, etc. was much calmer and laid back than the trilams or the newer vifas to my ears too.
DJ7, what amps you have on those 150s?

Anyone compared these 2 since they are about the same price per length, and if so, thoughts?

Tha cambridge Audio DVD player is supposed to be as good or nearly as good on redbook cds as their top line cd players.
Thanks for the heads up! I just ordered 2 of them at that price.
One for my office rig just to have a SACD/DVD Audio player in there, plus the option to have a DVD video player if I ever get a tv....
Do you happen to know if they will have XM tuners?
I think the next generation of the HK/Onk/Denon et al stereo only recivers will probably have them.
For some reason, that line from Vince Vaughn in Old School just jumped out at me "I've got more amps and speakers than a damned Kiss concert up in there".
Actually, in that linked article from HTM, 4 out of 4 people on the panel all liked monopoles better at the sides with bipoles at the rear in that scenerio of pair of each.
I copied and pasted it, believe me I would not have spent the time it would have took to type all that out!
Go to hometheatermag.com as there is an article about a test they did with a panel of 4 or 5 people about this very subject. You can do a search and find it in the archives. In short, the majority of...
As did I also little doggie. Arf arf! Yip yip!
Dude you are way too defensive. I wasn't even pulling your chain that time.
This can't be! Where are all the 2 midranges rule crowd?
Agree w/ all of the above. The surrounds should not be the most expensive speakers in the system.
Truer words have never been spoken here.
If it's an authorized dealer and still has the warranty, why not?
+1 on both counts.
I had an old Pioneer integrated back in the 80s. The dude I sold it to still has it to this day. It has run 24/7 for over 15 years now.
+1
Just stating the obvious here AP355, but I'd put a lot more stock in what others have actually heard rather than what they've read.
Congratulations on the 12s.
I would say not to biamp with the Yammie 2500 though. The 1400 or 2400 didn't do too well on some bench tests power measurements.
As others here have said, get...
You're crazy! Just kidding Marker! I know what you mean about the power differences needed. If you only have a receiver, the the 2000s are a much better choice.
I'm with DJ7, I liked the tweeters...
As a few here have already pointed out, I wouldn't automatically exclude the 10 just cause it has only 1 mid range driver.
However, with that said, the 12 does indeed have the best of both worlds....
If you go HK, get at least the 435 as it has quite possibly the best latest and greatest top of the line processor on the market right now from TI. Same as in Denon's 5805.
I got a pair of RTi12s and a CSi5 center all for $1000 new from Circuit City when they were clearing them out, $800 for the 12s and $200 for the 5, but you'd be hard pressed to find a deal like that...
I have a B&K 101, same as the 202 except for no DTS capability.
I still use this receiver a lot. When you think about it, probably 80 to 90% of all DVDs are still Dolby Digital 5.1 anyway.
If you...
If you have the 10s crossed over to the subs at 80 hertz and don't listen to real loud volume levels, the Sony will suffice, especially on movies.
However, for music listening, you could do WORLDS...
