don't do jl 500/1, I blew two subs with two jl 500/1. They were both DVC. You have to overpower them. I never blasted them either.
I bought them straight from polk, and the gains weren't at max. I set them witht the mulitmeter like jl suggested
Well, I blew these subs a while ago. One works but it sounds really bad, while the other doesn't work at all. Is it because it was underpowered? Or because I put the sub volume on high in the indash?...
work for circuit city, and you'll see, polk gives us the discount not circuit. I am thinking about getting another pair of sr6500's for the rear :) I followed people's advice of not putting anything...
bump,,, even though both my subs stopped working with the 500w jl audio @ 4 ohms
Yep really low notes, especially. It doesn't happen @ home and i have a deep sounding onkyo subwoofer powered by onkyo receiver about 100w. Or my sister's car, or the stock harmon kardon i had...
that's too advanced for me so i think a two chanell amp would be fine. I just want it loud and great sound.
What about a second pair of speakers would it help volume? and filing the car? I...
I'm very open to changin my amp, especially if a kicker zx can do the job WELL, since i get special pricing on them.
So I shouldn't add anymore??? what about the amp any suggestions? Not for nothing but I heard some pretty sweet and loud focals. I sell a lot of polk, and polk home audio at work so I was biased with...
im geting dynamat xtreme 36 sqft for only 81 bucks :)
this would make it 600w a piece?
wait, i'm lost. I have a pair of SRs. I'm talking about if I downgrade my jl audio 500w to a kicker that can do 750w or a kicker that can do 1000w @ 2 ohms. What should I expect
Well I don't know about recreating stages or anything like that I would like to know. Anyways I been planning to get the 36sqft xtreme
lol their cars have decent speed, they not mustang cobras, they cost more, but they are faster than the average car.
But I do hear the speaker get loud, just doesn't sound good. I'm wondering if...
should I up/downgrade to 2 kickers capable of 1000w RMS @ 2ohms??
what kind of difference should I expect?
or even a 750w RMS @ 2 ohms.
yes i use mp3s, but i thnik i had this problem on a CD as well, don't remember. How should I rip mp3s? I'll check my RCA's as well I'm not sure I have good RCA's to the sub.
I'm clueless on what can be the issue. thanks for the input though. About the power you can look at it like this, mercedes are made for comfort yet they have more power than most other vehicles.

they are 125w and retail over 799 so it should hold is weight with volume, but it doesn't sound like 799 + speakers at low volumes. my signal cable is pretty good it's the best tsunami cable. the...
I feel the air being pushed from the door when the song is bassy, so i doubt the xover is reversed.
also i can get this one at a good price too http://www.eclipse-web.com/amp/xa4200.html
but i don't understand how it jumps from 100x 4 to 400 x2
400w per component is scary
I have a pair of sr6500 and i believe it's not sounding too great. The tweeters are giving me like a wierd noise like a paper in a fan, just not that loud, kind of faint. The only sound that really...
PS. they are both in sealed enclosures the exact same size that polk specified on their site.
i don't know what's up with my system in some songs i get a brrrrrr sound in other songs they sound fine. I'm not talking about the car vibration or anything like that. I'm talking about the actual...
I'm assuming this would be overkill http://www.eclipse-web.com/amp/za1200.html 1200w @ 2 ohms.
