For how much?
They are fine speakers.
I loved mine but way too big for my place that time.
I actually preferred them over SDA-2B's. They had more mid range that I wanted.
I'm selling monitor 10's that are three models up from 5jr (5-->7-->10) for $100 and no bites here.
Depends upon location but 5jr around $60 is fair.
I've heard few models.
I'm keeping eye for model 14 or 19...
I agree they are great sounding speakers as long as horns don't bother.
Around this part of the country, Chorus show up for around $3-$500 quite often.
Even Cornwalls that demand higher, show up...
Way too high price for them. That price is for cornwalls in good shape.
Not personally but eBay has them for $499 new.
For ht, my cheap radioshack optimus 10" sub works and premier acoustic looks like much better build, has more power, bigger and goes deeper.
Okay, let's see.
250 W RMS.
Peak Power Handling 1000 W
Frequency Responses 25 Hz - 180 Hz
Impedance 4 ohm
Sensitivity 85 dB
It'll make you run during the explosions....
I had L100t and they sounded great.
I preferred them over 2B's.
It'll be interesting comparison of the bigger 1b with L100t3's.
I sold both studio and standard pairs for $225 each pair so I don't think wood caps (standard) ones go for any more.
Hope you didn't spend a lot for them.
RDO tweeters can be ordered from Polk at around $50 each.
So if you spend $150, new tweeters will cost another $100 plus any other upgrades.
Adds up quick.
What's worth to one may not be worth to...
I'm not spending that much just to compare as I'm pretty sure A400's will still come out on top.
If someone local has a fully upgraded pair, we can do that.
But that's not a fair comparison....
Yes and no or it depends as per my understanding.
If your receiver processes/downmixes signal to .1 then, it'll be what you said.
For example, a stereo source is changed in receiver to DD or DTS...
Yes, A400's, one of my favorites. A150's have quite good reputation but no match to A400's.
On a serious note, I started a thread on similar topic and there is a lot of discussion.
Pay attention to posts where it is mentioned that even if a bookshelf and a tower have exact same drivers,...
Hehe... true but I'm pretty sure we'll die long before that.
Main point why I like tower speaker is that I don't like (almost hate) stands.
Plus all the positive points mentioned above regarding sound come as extra.
I see few threads mentioning 10C so put in there but they may have confused with the series ii.
check the schematics sticky in this forum for 10B's.
If you have silver dome tweeters, they are 10B's.
Monitor 10A either has peerless or SL-1000.
Monitor 10B either has SL-1000 (bright brushed steel face) or silver dome SL-2000 tweeter
Polk Monitor 10B's - no grill, minor scratches/knicks on the cabinets.
I'll keep eyes open for the larger Polk speakers.
The largest I had were 3.1TL's and I liked 2B's better.
Playing with 10B's, their sound improves somewhat to my liking using equalizer.
Okay here is what I think. It's not a perfect setup but it is what I can do.
So take it with a grain of salt.
I hate my P&S camera. Horrible night time pictures.
10B's: Not bad at all...
