Thanks for all the great replies! I was expecting to hear horror stories about the Emo, and I really appreciate having my perception corrected.
LOL--too funny!
There seems to be a big divide on this brand. I'm considering what I want for a HT and am not sure what the reasons are for not liking Emotiva amps.
Why do people either love them or hate them?
Thanks for the advice.
Thanks, rpf65. So maybe I should save some money on the AVR with a 7.1 system and spend the difference on a 2 channel amp.
I've read that bi-amping is a joke, but is that in all situations or just some? I'm considering the two AVRs in the title, and each says that I can bi-amp my front speakers and still have 7.1...
I just look the 07 up--awesome! Thanks!
(no soft drink pun intended)
Thank you all for your advice. I do think the A7s will be plenty for me.
Can anyone recommend an amp for just the A7s?
I'm looking to upgrade my RTiA3s with RTiA7s or 9s and will be replacing my low-end Pioneer. The home theater will be in a 15x17 foot room, hardwood but with a large wool rug. The entertainment...
Ok, good stuff to know, cnh. Last time I hooked this kind of stuff up was in the early 90s. I think we just ran the speaker wire from the receiver to the amp and from the amp to the speakers...
Ah--you guys have gone over my head. To set up the receiver, I connected the speaker wires (14 gauge) to the receiver and the speakers. There's more?
This is my receiver: Pioneer VSX-518
And...
Well that's good to know. What do I look for when I buy an amp?
No, I have no room for a sub, but really, I don't feel like the low end sounds bad at all. I think the mid sounds murky.
Hi. I have a Pioneer VSX-518 and two RTiA3s and a CSiA4. I know that this receiver is on the low end, but I've always thought it should be a little louder. For listening to the news or watching TV...
thanks for answering my questions about the gauge of wire
So, I'm not sure at all as to which speaker wire to buy. I had my mouse on the purchase button on the next tab over for 10 guage blue jean wire for RTi series speakers--OK or overkill?
Thanks all for your comments. I'm holding out for the A3s.
Thanks, CaligulaPolk. I saw that, too, but I want it in black.
EDIT: Oh!--that one is in black. CSi A4 vs. CS10, anyone?
I've been waiting for CSi A4s to show up on the polkdirect website, but I recently realized that I have enough Best Buy gift cards to get the CS10s with spending a dime.
If I go with the CS10s...
