Very cool. Have you thought about locating the passive radiators somewhere other than the front to make the baffle smaller?

Did you keep the passive radiator or lose it? Any pictures of this anywhere?
How about a Monitor 10 repurposed in a different enclosure with the MWs on either side of the tweeter, similar to the CsiA6 design?
VR3,
With regards to the CsiA6 , do you know off hand which size inductor goes with the TW network and which goes to MWs? One is a smaller air core and the other looks to be a larger metal...
Post some pictures if possible
I had the resistors wired in parallel, thinking they would double up. I wired them in series and the value is much closer.
If you wire the 2 x 1ohm resistors in parallel aren't you actually lowering the resistance?
Also, can we start a Sticky of schematics for the newer models like RTiAs?
Yes, 0.5 correct.
According to that calculator, 2 x 1ohm resistors in parallel is 1 ohm. So that changes a lot in all those crossovers using 2 x 1ohm mundorf mox resistors in place of a 2 ohm resistor, if that is...
I have two 1 Ohm resistors in parallel, why does my VOM still read it as 1 Ohm?

I agree. It does not seem like the tweeter was what made it bright, like I first thought. Could you try it out so we can get a second opinion?
The outer box shape is different yes, but the enclosure for the mids/tweeter is still a rectangular box inside of the curved enclosure.

This is a picture of the RTi12, which we all know is a very similar design. I believe it is from a blog where a member did a tour of the Polk headquarters. The tweeter/mid encosure is the...
I've given it a week and I think I perfer the sound with more polyfill. I think it really tones down the "brightness" that everyone talks about with these speakers. The seperate encloser for the...
What are you going to be using them for specifically? Will you be using them for 2-channel listening? if so get the CRS's.
Even $250 is too much. Maybe if there were in perfect condition. It looks like they are the vinyl and not the veneer. I say no more than $200.
Has anyone experiment with the amount of polyfill in the mid/tweeter section? I added about double the current amount and am doing some A/B mono tests, it has peak my curiosity. Definitely gives...
Thank you! Which caps are in the high-pass, the 9uf and 8.2uf?
A list of Woofer and tweeter parts would be nice but I'm more concerned about the crossover parts. It would be nice to know without having to unscrew 5 different drivers.
I've used the search function and the vintage speaker forum and can't seem to find a parts list for the Rti series. If there is one, where is it and if not can we make one? I have my A3s apart right...
On this forum, often the advice is starting with a good source, garbage in, garbage out right? How much of an affect does the room have? Isn't it the first variable that should be addressed?

Got my new(to me) Yamaha RX-V3000 the other day from Mike. Let me say first, I had to stretch before bringing it in the house to prevent any injuries! When I opened it up, it looked like was one of...
Might be a while, I don't even have a 5.1 receiver . Been just a two channel listener. What can be had for around $400? I would be using my Carver for the mains so it would have to have pre-outs, ...
Chumlie, I forgot to change my location, I'm in El Paso now. Maybe we could work something out if I see something in Cleveland and visa versa. Although there are hardly ever speakers on CL down...
