Fire wood anyone?
deoxit is a realy good contact cleaner, safe for most plastics and it's the only brand i will use, you can get it at radio shack, they may have small cotton tipped swabs too
Thank you ! Midwest Speaker Repair seems to have exactly what i need. I wish i knew of this company before. I am kinda surprised how much variation there is with there 4.5 inch surrounds
They look like the ones you have Phasewolf, not the TL
I have a pair of the polk mini monitors that are the foam version and have not had luck finding the correct size foam, the woofer is about 3 inch OD and the ID of the frame is about 4 inch with a 4.5...
I blew up an avr while i was working on a tape deck, the mech slipped and it's chassis hit the primary side of the power transformer and sent a burst of 120ac though the unit and out the connected...
luckily nothing was cooked in your case
does your receiver have a BTL out put? that puts voltage on both the + and - speaker outs, so maby that's what happened, floating ground maby too?
I had an ac plug on another unit do that when it...
I the woofers are warped. replace them, dry the cabinet as fast as possible so the wood wont swell and fall apart, take afaey part you can get to off and let dry in the sun, including the crossovers,...
the advantage of the second option is the volume will change with the main speakers as the same time, in your case i could try the second option
Did my suggestions help or hinder?
Have you checked the drive transistors at the output? the power supply feeding that ic could be damaged as well, something caused that ic to fail and that is what needs to be tracked down, one itty...
are you over driving it? if you mechanical sound like the woffer bottoming out our or distortion, back down the power and make sure it can ventilate with a few inches at lest from the back of the amp...
I would prefer aluminum and glass shelving my self, it has a very nice clean look to it.
home depot even has some. not cheap though
on other products that i have seen this problem on, was usually caused by the source volume being too low. on an speaker with it's own amp, they sometimes wont correctly detect an input if the level...
To think, i used to just complain that the jack was easy to bust and a pain in the tail to replace
Ok today has not been a good day, first my furnace went out , next my vacuum desoldering station fell on the floor and broke parts but the kicker is i was unplugging a lead acid battery charger and...
Yes it can drive 4 ohm loads , the manual seems to have ratings down to two ohms, i highly doubt the impedance curve drops that low on the speakers. I ended up seeing the 600 watt pulse with some...
Yes of course i left the resistor in place and and i added the fuse due to the poly fuse being NLA, it can be easily undone. I just wanted some form of over load protection as i have seen spikes from...
Yes of course i left the resistor in place and full power is at almost reference with out distortion, I am not maxing out the volume. I still have overhead, I guess full power was not an accurate...
I am currently trying to figure that out, it will be connected to a better spectrum meter soon, at high power drive i so see a very little activity bellow 500 hz , it's very low in amplitude, so...
Ok another question, would 20 watts RMS be a safe value for the RDO194 ?
Yes i would think that would work, 300 watts is enough for your sub. If the sub is still blowing fuses with that listed adapter i would send it in for service
If my math works va is volts times amps so 1 amp x 120volts gives 120va, that's an easy one. If cost is an problem the 100va transformer is a little underrated but should work for testing, the max...
