I think you have chosen an excellent setup. I would stay with the LSiFx... I like diffuse surround-sound.
It's completly personal. I think the LSi9's are just fantastic. At this price, they do 'nothing wrong', I mean, they don't do anything that gets on your nerves. They just sound warm, and clear. They...
A bit late, but the other speakers are ATC's ;)
They should have made them active :p
dvd is 5.1 and should be played back like that :p
Isn't it something about the crossover of the LSiC that makes it different from the LSi9's? The polk site says:
For me 5.1 all the way.
Movies = 5.1 and I like movies so the choice is simple for me.
I think my setup is pretty good at stereo too. Ok, if I spend the same amount of money on a 2 channel setup I...
You are right about that. I've heard the PMC EB1's (9,999.- euros) and, although extremly clean and boxless sound, the highs made me extremly nervous (All of the PMC's did).
I think the bass...
I've just checked the price on the Mani 2's
One set is more expensive then my complete speaker setup including receiver and subwoofer...
Why are you comparing those?
You can better think of a...
And with what search query do you find all those threads?
mmmhh...
A friend of mine bought my previous speakers, the R30's, and used them together with his spirit absolute 2 to get that mellow sound. I think that 'mellowness' :D is in the sub-mid range (I...
I've been expirimenting with the LSi9's + sub. I used the bass-management in my receiver. At 60Hz x-over, the musicality of the LSi9 is still there. At 80Hz and up, the musicality is gowing away. At...
The 805's are mentioned in this thread:

At over 2 times the cost, I'm not even thinking about upgrading. My whole speaker setup...
Sell the RTi8's and get a sub :D
I've only used the sticky round pads delivered with the stands. They are only sticky on one side. You can see them in the second picture I posted.
They feel stable.
If I push sideways at the top of the speaker, the speaker is the first thing that moves and the stand keeps standing.
Maybe I fill the stands just to be sure.
Do you have a...
I guess I could be perfectly happy with the LSi7's:
- less bass problems, easier placement
- less problems with choosing stands
- add a second pair of LSi7's for perfect front/surround integration...
Unfilled, they are about 10.2Kg each. Google says that's 22.5 pounds
LSi9's on Target HR70 stands:
They are nice, the topplate might be small, but I could make a bigger one (or ask sanus nicely if they can deliver the bigger plate of the smaller (less heigh) stands). Only thing left is the pillars...
When I called them for the first time I asked a estimated price. This was 150 euro. Now the design is ready and they calculated the total cost. That would be a whopping 670 euro
@furball,
I went to a steel-company this morning who does small projects. The stands are really simple. 2 plates with 2 pillars in between. I will post some photo's as soon as they are ready.
I've had the same problem and it drove me completly mad. At the end, I now know what the problems where:
1. Bad amplification. I had a sony db840 which has a too agressive sound.
2. Bad...
I agree, I would stay RTi because of the aesthetics and the timbre match. If you go LSi it should be an upgrade path to LSi all around.
But how much more do you get when you upgrade to the...
I was wondering because they aren't exactly cheap and they look so cool. The size and design would be perfect in my interior.
I hope they don't sound as nice as the LSi's, because I don't want to...
