These speakers would not sound the same. If say you had a CSi3 or CSi5 and had a matched front soundstage you could prabably get away with it.

SD on an HD LCD is very watchable on a 32". Made sure the LCD has NTSC/ATSC tuner so she can watch HD on local if she wants...

I watch SD TV on my HDTV and its acceptable.

My store sells similar TV stands at 300.00+

Your thinking is on the right track...

The only issue I see is that the RTi series and the Moniter series speaker is a very different speaker. Driver, cabnet, PowerPort, lots of differences...

The RTi4s will match the RTi8s much better than the R50s...

Use the R50's in a 2ch setup somewhere and pick up the 4's for your surrounds!
