Will install MMC 5250s in my son's mustang and have a question on what amp circuit breaker should I use with the following equipment:
- MTX Thunder 684 4-channel amp
- Pioneer 200watt bass tube...
More details on your install please. Using a distro block, wiring, etc.
I have two 8" Image Dynamics subs, check them out, they're competition-level SQ subs.
BTW, congrats Mac on your win. You gave me tons of good advice when I first set up my system, glad to see you win :)
Thanks for the info :)
Actually, I remembered I had another new MTX amp, MXA3002 2-channel amp. It's 75x2 @ 4ohms. Looks like my solution, then I can pull the Thunder 684 and put it in my son's stang running the Momos. ...
Been a long time since I've posted, but you guys have been the most reliable car audio buffs I've come across. Hope you don't mind me asking this question.
I had the momo 5250s in my truck, but...
If your box is sealed completely, I wonder if you have any problems with any air gap on your double thick front panel. It's gotta be something with your box if it sounds decent outside, then like...
LOL, I knew Celine Dion was evil, you guys confirmed it. BTW, amazed y'all would admit to cranking Celine :) j/k
Not unless you're just wanting to spend more money. I've learned a lot from the guys on this site as well as others and I'm sure they'll say to just get some decent wire and be done with it. ...
I'm not familiar with the Tucson doors, it could be that simple though if you have enough room. Problem is, if you want to adjust your crossovers later you'd have to take your panels back off which...
The crossovers aren't that big, your cabin is as big if not bigger than my Explorer Sport Trac and I have the MMC5250s. The crossovers are only like a 4 inch x6 inch with probably 1.5 inch height. ...
No prob Satch, how 'bout these off Ebay:

For the 5.25s, you can buy adapters/brackets from Crutchfield or any other car audio dealer. But for a pretty simple, better, and less expensive method just get some 1/2" to 3/4" MDF and make your...

Nice indeed, I went with the Eclipse CD8445 which looks almost identical to yours and has the 8v preouts. Agree the hu is awesome, great sounding unit, tons of features.
Ok, will do, thanks. Same here (bi-amped) and the tweet gains are already a bit lower than the mids.
Yeah I think I read that on here as well which is why I wasn't worried. It is a bit on the bright side right now, turned down the tweets to -3db which helped, so I hope they break in soon so I can...
Thanks again guys for your help. I installed the MMC5250s today and they're awesome!!
Got 'em installed and they sound great! :) Still need to fine tune, but so far with simple adjustments these sound very nice :)
That's good news, thanks Mac. Back to the install :)
Installing them today and I noticed the Polk wires for the speakers aren't very beefy ... not sure size, prob either 16 or 18 gauge ... should I change them for 12/14 gauge? Need to go out and check...
LOL, thanks neo ... haha, I just automatically "assumed" ... shouldn't have done that. :)
