Not really knowing these speakers, my guess would be, no it is not using any of the power from the Sunfire amp to power the internal subs in your speakers.

If I can, I will not use UPS to ship anything. I have been in their sorting centers and have seen them throw and kick boxes across the room and into the trucks.

Don't know much about digital cables but IMO digital is digital. Quality counts only as far as the signal gets from the source to were it is going. IMO cannot make 100010100101 sound any better...

It is my understanding you can use the Duet remote to control any of the Squeezebox devices. You can buy just the Duet remote with out the base. MSRP $299.
