That's the reason why I bought my SR124DVCs and I couldn't be happier.
I'm gonna second that because I'm putting about 705 watts to each of mine and sometimes feel they would like me to give 'em some more.
I have the 9886 and like it, but from my understanding - 9887 > 9886.
I kept blowing fuses one time when trying to hook my Kicker SX1250.1 up, then I realized I had put the ground in the 12v and was trying to hook the power into the ground. :P
Well I've come to a possible conclusion. I did some more research and found where other people have had similar problems and they also have Alpine HUs. Apparently the problem is with the preouts...
First - The System
(Car = 2004 2dr Blazer ZR2) My stereo system consists of an Alpine CDA-9886 with Polk MOMO 4x6s and 6x9s running directly from it, an MTX Thunder 342 amp powering my Polk MOMO...
I've got 2 Polk SR124-DVCs wired in at 1ohm with a Kicker SX1250.1 (birthsheet rated 1410watts).
How about the break in period? Doesn't the manual say something like 40-60hours. Could it possibly be that this sub actually needs the period instead of just putting them in and blasting away? Not...
Whoa there. Like I said, I wasn't tryin' to be an @$$ to you or disrespect you, don't get mad. I have 2 12" Polk SR124-DVCs and I love them. Of course those probably cost more than you are looking...
Not to be an @$$, but seriously. You came on a Polk forum to ask about Pioneer. You say you don't know much about Polk stuff, yet you are asking about Pioneer, why not ask about Polk stuff on a...
If you go with 2 subs, you are just getting more displacement, which will do nothing for your SQ, but will up the SPL. Just a thought. I'm not gonna try to tell you which setup you should go with...
I'm about to make a new box for my 2 SRs. Currently I've got 1.02 after displacement per sub, but I'm gonna build one thats 1.22 after displacement per sub.
So, do all the SR subs up until now have this problem? Because I bought a pair of SR124-DVCs back in November and have had them in for about 2 months and haven't really started pushing them until...
This is word for word out of the SR owner's manual that came with the sub:
Recommended
Sealed
Enclosure Sizes
SR104/SR104DVC-0.66cu. ft. (18.7L) net-
Important: Add driver displacement...
I have 2 SR124DVC subwoofers powered by a Kicker SX1250.1 in a really small box (1.02cft for each sub after displacement.). They sound great. Fast and accurate bass and can go fairly low. I'm sure...
Now that made me laugh. I've got polk momo 4x6s, 6x9s, 6.5 components, and 2 SR124-DVCs (just put the subs in so I'm in the break in process but have had the other stuff for over 2 1/2 yrs) and they...
Just got my 2 SR124-DVC installed today with a Kicker SX1250.1 amp wired in at 1ohm putting 705watts to each sub. The box is 14x28x14 sealed and chambered which I think comes out to (after...
Is that 1.0cft before displacement? If thats the case that enclosure is a little small. The minimum for a single sub is suppose to be .88cft after displacement. Personally, I'd stick with sealed...
I hear nothing but great things about the CVXs. I've checked out some of the other car audio forums and they get a lot of praise for the price. Apparently its a good all around sub that can pound...

I got mine off of ebay brand new for...
One more question: I've also started looking at the Kicker SX1250.1 which does 1250wattsx1 at 1ohm. If i bought the 4ohm dvc SRs could i run them at 1ohm with each sub getting 625watts or would i...
Crutchfield has the Alpine CDA-9884 and 9886 coming out on Nov. 21 of this year. I'm gonna be getting the 9884 myself since my old CDA-9827 got stolen along with some other stuff.
I'm sure the 10s would sound good, but i always like it when my subs would go inaudible and they would just rumble and everything around me would shake. I'm not expecting that so much with these,...

I'm driving a 2004 Blazer ZR2 2-door. You can see pics of my old setup on page 3.
The Kicker Amp while it says 900, puts out almost 1200. I've seen two different SX900.2 amps and the posted wattages were 1090 and 1095. Kicker underrates their stuff. My old KX850.2 was actually...
