heya,
What possible benefit would rounded corners in a sealed box have? I understand in a ported box it may be an advantage, but would it be a benefit in a sealed box?
Thanks

Fair enough Macleod, but even on the polk website on the box building specs, they recommend minimal fill. I have built the box to spec, so perhaps I should put some fill just to finish off the...
Heya,
By loose fill, do you just throwing some in the box, or actually stapling / gluing it to the sides?
Thanks
Thanks for the info MacLeod.
In all honesty, I am still installing my sound, and hooking up amps, so have not tuned it yet, but i will keep the 63hz in mine :)
Any opinions of putting fill into...
ye, I am sure I will cross it off around there somewhere, but it still rolls off.
Anyways, I bought a new amp to run my 2 DB's, and have kept them in the same same spec sealed boxes :)
BTW,...
Heya,
I have been playing on Bassbox 6, and it seems a ported box with an Fb of around 25 gives the nicest, flattest response. Its a huge box, 100L, but on paper, it looks like a much better...
Heya,
I currently have my Polks in a sealed enclosure to spec. They are running off a 400w amp (per channel) and sound pretty good.
However, I have only ever had them in a sealed enclosure,...
yo,
To me, that sounds like the bonus of the century, getting SR6500's for the price of SR5250's :)
GL with the install, I am sure the extra work will be worth it in the long run
@ 03CelicaMD - Yes, even if you are using your HU, you should be using the x-over, unless you are running an active system (this is when you use external x-overs, for example, the ones built into an...
the output of the x-over goes to the speakers, and the 'other side' goes to the amp.
You will have 2 outputs on one side (one for tweeter and one for woofer/mid). The other side will be the input...
Heya,
Did you buy these new? If so, you should have got a manual explaining what to do. If not, check this link for a manual :...
heya,
there are 2 ways of wiring the x-over.
You can either power the x-over off a single input, or bi-wire them.
So basically, if you have a 4 channel amp, you can run two channels to the...
hey dcmeigs,ye, you got a good point there. We are just a few (thousamd :P) km's from Asia, a helluva lot closer than US of A.
Could you send me some of those places you have seen those cheap...
heya,
as mentioned before, I could get it shipped, but a $100 amp would cost $90 to ship.
Even a small parametric EQ costs $45 to ship.
I could get the shop to ship, but IMHO, its expensive....
heya,
Bit of a strange request this.
would anyone here be willing to forward car audio equip (amp, parametric eq's etc) on from the USA to me in Australia?
I would obviously be taking a risk,...
Polk MM6501's.
What do I win? :)
hey,
That polk amp above is nice, but imho, 250watts bridged is not going to run many subs to their fullest of their abilities (even the db series runs at 400w rms)
I would buy a nice 2-channel...
The Hifonics amp would do fine if you bridge it, or you could use it to run eash component off a channel, although you may be underpowering the mids a tad on 85W.
The Phoenix Gold is an amazing...
heya,
Good idea mate :)
Heres a killer amp at a killer price. I have the X200.4, and it runs my mids damn nicely on 2 channels, and 2 x Polk DB12's on the other 2 channels!
...
take out the polks, get a nice HU, and the money you would have spent on speakers, buy a nice small 2 channel amp.
And get $10 cheapies to replace your polks with, if you have to leave something...
thanks.
Heya,
I want to put my 6.5" Momo's in a bi-amp config, but need to know how may watts my tweeters need. I have an old kicker amp that gives 50 watts per channel, would that be sufficient to power...
thanks for that dude, appreciate the answer.
I can actually make it to the spec, but will just have to come out a few more cm's than I wished.
I may go fiberglass at the back, instead of just a...
heya,
Thanks for that. I wrote to the Polk dudes and they said not to go smaller than 24.9L.
I will make a plan and get the few extra Litres then :)
I allready have the 2 x 12" Polk DB's,...
heya,
I have a 12" DB sub, and need to know what the min size box I could run it in (sealed) that would sound good.
I am going to use it for an SQ setup, so do not need the loudest box in the...
