How did you get the calculator to spit out 1 ohm for two 1-ohm resistors in parallel? It [correctly] says 0.5 ohm for me.
Crossovers using two 1-ohm resistors in place of a 2-ohm resistor would...

That's a very cool amp! I really wish my area(s) of the country had more going on Craigslist. I'd love to find some custom DIY amps and speakers floating around.
This is long overdue for an update. However, there isn't much progress to announce.
To the best of my ability, I can only elicit that somewhere inside the amp there is a short between left and...
That is about the best price I have ever seen for a W4S DAC2. Surely someone will grab it quickly.
So it's powered by 120V from the wall and the regulated supply shares the board? It looks like you just have a power cable dissected and screwed into the terminal block.
I feel it needs repeating once more - those caps are enormous!
Great work, Trey.
I'm tempted to think that anything would look nice sitting on that stand, but that is a very pretty amp.
That is a great price for the HD600s with Cardas cable! Most HD600s go for $300 by themselves.
GLWTS!
Sonic Craft has always been good to me - better than Parts Connexion by a long shot. I've never given Madisound a shot, but I'd like to either stay with all Clarity Caps or all Sonicaps on the board;...
They do have all of the capacitors, priced slightly lower than PartsConnexion, but they don't have the resistors.
I'm not sure if the 12uF is in the low-pass, but it would seem to be based on its placement on the board.
Clarity Cap ESA has a 12uF / 250V offering, but PartsConnexion doesn't keep them in stock....
You're correct, they are right around the same size.
Alright, shopping list:
2x Clarity Cap ESA 2.7uF/250V
2x Clarity Cap ESA 5.6uF/250V
2x Mills MRA12 0.33Ohm
2x Mills MRA12 0.91Ohm
I have...
Hey man, if the cap fits.
Thanks for the help, F1nut. Sonic Craft was probably gonna be my next stop.
That's what I was looking into. Mills MRA12 resistors would work, but they don't have a 0.3 or a 0.9 Ohm resistor available through Parts Connexion. The approximate values might work must as well.

I opened up the Focals today just to get a peek inside at what's in the crossover. It's pretty simple, but I'm having some trouble identifying values for some of the components. I've also been trying...
Nice snag! Those M60s (and their bigger brothers) are supposed to be phenomenal for the money. I've not had a chance to grab and listen to one - yet.
Pretty sweet! VERY bright!

I was just thinking, obviously there is something wrong with there being a measured resistance between the two channels. I tested the old potentiometer, and no such continuity existed between the...
I completely missed your past few responses until just now. Thanks for the help! I'll send an email your way.
On another note, have you noticed the behavior that is supposed to be typical of the...
The only electrolytics I swapped were the 220uF/250V ones. I already rechecked all of those. Resistors are all fine by inspection and measure correctly. I can't find anything obviously wrong on the...
Power up, measures just fine (again, a bit high on the voltage.
Plug source in, left channel first, loud pop in right speaker and appreciable rise in noise floor.
Plug right channel in, no pop...
Everything is wired inside, but I still have it open and sitting on my desk because of the voltage problems I've been having. It seems to measure just fine (albeit a bit high, from the high line...
If they aren't very difficult to open and work in, just try both!
I agree - out of phase would seem to make more sense for two woofers on opposite faces of the same enclosure.
