Default Ooh ooh ooh! I'm excited!

So my CSi A4 finally arrived and for once I feel my system is complete... or at least complete 'enough' where I will no longer feel a gnawing urge to keep buying things for my system! Agh, will this sickness never subside!... hmm, you know I do need a power conditioner too.... DOH!

Check it: I added pictures! Just thought I'd share my excitement. Thanks fellow polkies for your advice and guidance. ;)

Nice looking setup! Congratulations hagmanm2! I've been leery about buying an amplifier from Craig's List - your experience may cause me to reconsider that.

You should have went for the CSiA6. It smokes the A4.;)

    But...congrats either way!

edit-You're using it with a pair of TSi500's? I retract my previous comment...you should have went for a CS10 or CS20 IMO. Looks like space is at a premium there...so probably the CS10 would have been best. And probably cheaper for that matter.

Glad to see another Rum drinker out there. I've always been partial to it. And for all those who think rum can't be a refined and respectable drink: screw you!

Yeah Pappy, I've always had great luck with CL. I've had to turn down some stuff from time to time, but usually the people are more than willing to work with you (ie. take off the amps cover to check out the internals, test out all the inputs etc).

Thanks for the ¢2 curt. I was looking between the CS20 and the A4 with no price difference.

Yes, I'm in a small room now, but I'm thinking of the future when I can finally move and place them in a room where they can breathe.

As far as putting the CSi with the TSIs... I decided to go with the CSi because I'd only be using it with movies/tv; my music listening is always 2 channel. Since the center handles the vast majority (I've read 75% or more) of the audio during movies, I didn't think it'd be a big deal to mismatch the speakers. So no they aren't sonically matched, but so far I haven't been able to tell a difference.

Any thoughts? Was that why you were recommending the CS10/CS20? I often read the advice to 'trust your own ears' yet sometimes that's hard to do when you can't listen to the speakers... and sometimes it's hard because you haven't yet developed a critical ear. It seems for now I've made the right choice, I couldn't be happier (but I would like to hear any other comments you might have). :D

IF you have TSI-500s you should match them with a CS20..that's even what Polk recommends! The Csi series is NOT timbre matched for TSIs.

And as for rum...all spirits have their high end--and that makes a huge difference in any drink. But for me Cognac will always be King...smooth, powerful, made from a 'fruit'....and aged and aged and aged almost like a fine wine...is there anything that is more refined than a great Cognac and a good cigar? My apologies to Scotch drinkers (I can enjoy a good Scotch--but even the best have an aftertaste that no good Cognac has!).

I like that Polk Audio screen saver. Damn that would look trick on my 126" screen as movie intro. Do you mind sharing where you got it? Also your setup looks good bro, my only suggestion is put an SSD in that PC rig and watch it fly.

Congrats, although I agree that the CS20 would have been the "best" choice in centers. Timbre matching can come in to play with the front three, I know my TSi 500's and CS2 did not get along well together, which is why I now run them as surrounds. Having said that, many people have or do run "Franken systems" so if it sounds good to you, that is all that matters. Not like you are going to damage anything by running a mismatched front 3, lol.

It's just an image of their logo that I use as part of a photo gallery screensaver. Found here:

And yes, an SSD would be oh-so-nice. Alas, they're still out of my price range for the size I'd want.
And for those of you who haven't seen Samsung's SSD demo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96dWOEa4Djs

Yup, for my needs and wants this is great! ... And perhaps I went with the CSi because I know in the future I'd want to upgrade to an RTi HT rig (probably with the A3's). Something else to look into purchasing sometime in the future (hopefully not-to-near future. I don't need to spend anymore money).
