    Post Sub upgrade

I have a polk psw10 and have been using this for 3 years. After playing movies like Transformers, Iron Man, Avatar, and Batman Begins I just need more bass. I also use my system for music but use direct mode for that and sounds just fine without any sub. What would be a good upgrade from this?

The 505 id well regarded around here. Depending on your budget there are tons of options out there. Look into HSU and SVS for some really nice subs. There are also the DSW and micropro line of Polk subs available.

If you can pony up the cash I highly recommend an SVS sub. I have the PC12-NSD and it is unreal for movies. Don't go cheap on the sub because in my opinion, for movies especially, it can make or break the entire experience. I was watching Ice Age III with my kids the other day and the scene where the T-Rex walks up, you could have sworn the damn thing was walking in my living room. Startled my kids and brought a big smile to my face. Totally pulls you into the movie experience.

SVS and Epik subwoofers would be a good choice.

Im on a budget so I went with the HSU STF-2, Cant tell you how it sounds because I had not have the time to set my system up, but for the price you cant go wrong. I read some review and the difference between the STF2 and the SVS PB10-NSD, is small in performance. But the difference in price is $250 bucks for the PB12 and $125 for the PB10. Also if your Receiver support more than one sub, you can add another sub later.

Skip the 10 and go for the 12" PB12 NSD. It would be even nice if you could go for the plus. Epik has a new sub out called the Empire that has dual 15s in the cabinet, but it is not in stock.

+1 for the HSU recommendation. If you go from a psw10 to a HSU or SVS you will be floored. Let us know what you end up with.

    +2 on the HSU.

I demo'd both HSU and SVS when shopping for a sub...kept the HSU and returned the SVS. HSU wins in terms of sound quality and delivering ridiculously clean bass. Plus the dual tuning option is nice.
