Default My Phone Line Cut Again!!!

The wonderful cable company cut our phone line AGAIN...this has been the
3rd time in as many years and each time the phone co. has come out and spliced the cut ends together with a black plastic box.
QUESTION---will these splices slow down my DSL and Netflix speed / or decrease picture quality?

I wouldn't think so, given the most wired pairs are spliced together to get near your house ;) Been a clean splice, the splice's should be ok.

Why is the cable company cutting your phone line? And if they are cutting it, why aren't they fixing it?

Because they aren't authorized or even trained to repair telcom facilities. If I'm out and about and see a cable comany touching our plant, there will be major hell to pay.

I'm assuming the "cable" is the drop to your house. If the drop splice is done right, you won't have any problem.
My equipment sig felt inadequate and deleted itself.

Good to know another splice shouldn't be a big deal. Most cables in our 'neck of the woods' of GA. are either buried a couple inches deep, or just laid on top of the ground....ie there are orange coax cables strung all over the place, which seems half-arsed to me.
