Default polk monitor series 2 M4's vs Lsi 15's.

OK I know what your thinking....he is out of his mind....this maybe true but it rained all god damn day today and we really didn't get to do much of anything so..................

I decided to play with the monitors and come to find out they are totally different then the Lsi's.....not suprised to say the least...

I played around with some Evensence which isn't the best recorded music I have demo'd with but what the hell....

The monitor 4's are old.Yes they are and old sounding. Not very clear and not much bass. They got alittle punch but not much. The mid range is kinda smeared and the highs are well squeeky. The Imaging is fair to be kind. The built quality is really OLD looking. It looks not much better then some home made chumpies.LOL.
I guess once you grow out of a certain style of sound quality you can't go back.I had a hard time listening for a extended period of time...

So what can I say, nice little speakers for cheap.......sure.I garage or a mating for a theater with matching fronts...sure...bedroom system for background music..why not......for me...not in this lifetime..

The Lsi15's crushed these trying little speaker terrible.I was almost feeling bad for the little guys. They tried to make some noise with B&K driving them but man they just could do anything.
The Lsi15's sound in compare is light years ahead. The sound quality is rich and full.Warm and deep.My god how they sound now after this dumpass demo, they sound even better to me.....so I guess it was worth the waste of time....

Believe it or not dude I appreciate this thread. Yesterday I did a shootout with my SDA SRS 2's against my JBL L100T's. This is a 2 channel rig driven by a mid 80's Yamaha A700, 105 wpc, integrated amp using a calaudio DX-1 cd player. Very impressive sounding rig nonetheless. I just picked up the Dark Side of the Moon Hybrid SACD. DX1 is not a SACD player but I wanted to see if it sounded any better than the standard cd. Well It might have been just me but I thought it did. The SDA's blew me away, you see this was the first time I listened to DSOM on them. I was so impressed I found myself in the middle of Money with all my muscles just tight as hell, I had to tell myself to relax. The JBL's also sound damn good but the highs are a bit reflective in my room and the bass lacks compared to the polks. The SDA's need more amp and thats coming eventually. I also have a pair of ser.2 M7's I hooked up, they sound alright but damn I am spoiled now. I may sell those monitors. Well I just had to share this with the forum.

    It's cool

SACD is alot clearer and more dynamic then normal cds.Bad fact is that the selection is poor.

I meant the sacd selection, there's not many. And they don't release hardly any new music. They just basically take old albums and redue them. It's cool but come on,it's been out for what 3years strong now????My god.

Your personal selection is a good one.
