Default currently appearing in Marky's living room

This beautiful little pair of ca. 1957 Radio Shack (Grommes OEM) 6V6pp mono integrateds followed me home from NEARC (www.nearc.net) last month. Not the last word in anything, but more than respectable sounding and just cute as little buttons.

Spent some quality time today with a big Manfrotto tripod and every (cheap-Jack) digital camera in the house today trying to take a photo that did them justice. Never succeeded, but I still thought one or two folks here might enjoy seeing them.

    all the best,
    mrh

    Mark,
They are cute as a button! I think I found a Sherwood tuner (like the one in your photos) and matching integrated amp on the local CL. I can check about them if you'd like?
    Cheers, Ken

The Sherwood tuners are great-sounding, among my faves (in terms of stuff I can actually afford). Sherwood was directly descended from The Radio Craftsmen company of Chicago and they knew their stuff, tuner-wise.

I'd be most interested in the amp if it's one of the "small tube" (EL84/7189) Sherwoods and the price was reasonable. I've got an S-5500II (I think), one of the 7591-flavored Sherwood integrateds. Sherwood had a tendency to make lots of production-run changes to their hardware ('specially amps) with little or no documentation.

    Hello,
The tuner is an S5002 for $90.00 and the amp is the S2200 for $95.00.

    Other way 'round, Ken :-)
An S-5000II would be a heck of a deal or 90 smackers in working order (even without tubes).

I saw those also. Not the right time for me though.

I like speakers that are bigger than a small refrigerator but smaller than a big refrigerator:D
