Default Captain Morgan and mtn dew

2 oz mtn dew to 2/3 oz capt morgan is pretty good...but still not as good as CR special reserve and coke.

And yes, that is all...and no, this is my first (and last) drink of the night.

I have tried captain and dew at a friends recommendation. It is ok. My absolute favorite is captain and sprint. Taste like cream soda. The wife and I can drink those all night long,

I really cant stand cream soda...the best alcoholic drink ive ever had is just some good ol' jungle juice punch getting poured out of an ice chest...its the simple things in life...as long as they include a little everclear :)

The only mixed drinks I do are gin and tonic--on ice but only in the summer. Otherwise everything is 'straight'--no ice. Brandy, Scotch, etc. Even a GOOD Tequila is best 'straight' IMO. Everything else just masks the taste.

My favs are a good Cognac or Vodka. By good I mean Remy Martin or higher class. Chopin, Belvedere, Goose, or Crystal Head on the Vodkas.

If you really wanna go all out, try the Incredible Hulk CNH. It's not bad....

The Incredible Hulk is actually a mixed drink CNH. Goes down nice, but has a bit of a bite at the end.

All parts are equal, and it consists of Hypnotiq mixed with Hennessey. You can make it even stronger by adding a shot of Barcardi 151. I've had this while partying a few nights and things get interesting fast. YMMV, but give it a try.

Sounds sweet. Mountain Spew and Craptain Morgan's that is.

I like Southern Comfort and Dr. Pepper. That's about as sweet as I would go. I might even add some vermouth to it to ratchet down the sweet factor in that.

Also, this is the 4th time in 3 days that I have heard from as many people about an "Incredible Hulk".

My favorite "mixed" drink is the working man's special, Boilermaker, otherwise known as a shot and a beer. Some people mix them together, some people make a "car bomb" which I find retarded and others just take the shot and chase it with a beer.

There's always Manhattans but I really don't think they are "mixed" because you basically coat the glass with vermouth and then fill it with whiskey. Not really much of a "mix", Canadian Rye Whiskeys make the best Manhattans.

If you want a sweet drink that will knock you on your keister before you know it, Melon Balls.

    Melon Ball
    * 2 oz Midori Melon Liqueur
    * 1 oz Vodka
    * Pineapple Juice or Orange Juice (Pineapple works better IMO)

It's stout stuff and it's my "date drink" for when I'm out with a girl and she is either being coy or legitimately doesn't know what to order. I just tell the bartender/waitress that she would like a Melon Ball. I have yet to see a half-finished glass. Only problem is that Midori is a "top shelf" booze so it usually puts a Melon Ball in the "premium mixed drink" range and they are expensive. Thank God they are strong and most can't do more than 2 or 3 at best!

MTW Dew and Southern Comfort. We used to make it in college a lot, seems like odd combo but very good.

You know what? Have you even had a watermelon that's been soaking in Vodka overnight? You can that strong, sweet watermelon tastes with the strong Vodka bite? Well, a melon ball is like that only if you did it to a honeydew melon.

For those that don't know, if you want to make what is known as a "Vodka Watermelon" or a "Spiked Watermelon", it really is simple but takes time.

    What you need:
    - An average bottle of Vodka (375 ml I believe it is)
    - 1 seedless watermelon (the round ones work good but don't always take the whole bottle depending on how ripe they are.)

Step 1: Cut a hole in the watermelon big enough so that the neck of the vodka bottle is a snug fit. Get down well in to the meat. Some people use a funnel but that leaves the vodka open to the air and it can give the vodka an off taste due to oxidation of the spirit.

    Step 2: Open vodka bottle.

Step 3: Taste vodka, make sure it's vodka

Step 4: Taste vodka, make sure it's the good stuff

    Step 5: Verify step 3 and/or 4 again

Step 6: Cram the open end of the vodka bottle in the hole in the watermelon so it drains in to the watermelon. This will not happen very fast. Depending on how ripe/large the watermelon is, it could take some time to drain completely. Sometimes a couple days. I wouldn't let it go more than 2-3 days. Some people let it go a week but IMO, the watermelon itself gets iffy at that point and not worth ruining it.

Step 7: Store this in the fridge so the watermelon doesn't start to go bad

Step 8: Once the bottle is empty, pull it out.

Step 9: If you are going to a party with this, shove a cork in the hole. If not, then you can do one of two things
    - a: You can slice it up and serve that way
    - b: You can cut the top of the watermelon off to make a bowl, provide cups and a spoon for people to serve themselves like a punchbowl. You could also spoon it out yourself to make shots or shooters of it too. I like this serving method better because people can take as much or as little as they want. Besides that, slicing can get messy and you lose a good deal of the expensive vodka to the effluence from the slicing action.

Another option is to use this mixture as an ingredient in Watermelon Vodka Martinis.

Seedless watermelons are better for this because, well, less or no seeds of course. They also tend to have less moisture in them so they will take more of the vodka.

I've seen this done with rum as well. I don't think something like a whiskey or scotch would work very well though.
