Question Wire connection for Atrium 5 speakers

    Hello all,

I just installed a pair of Atrium 5 speakers outdoors. They are fairly well protected from weather. I wanted to use banana plugs at the mounting posts for easy connection but none that I have tried will fit. The connection opening is fine but because of the slight angle of the posts there just isn't enough room for a standard size banana plug. I even overpaid for a small set of Monster plugs but they didn't fit either. Does anyone make an offset type banana plug? Any other type of connectors that will work?

Welcome to Club Polk. It is always amazing when something is redesigned, the simple things are sometimes missed. All the older design Atriums would accomodate a standard banana blug.

Polk had a similar problem with the RM201 speakers that wouldn't fit standard banana plugs.

I'm not sure if these will work, but you could try Ponoma right angle retractable plugs.
These are typically used in a lab, but should work nicely for speakers.

There are some right angle banana plugs from Madisound that may work too.

Otherwise you'll have to make a straight wire connection which can be a tricky sometimes.
Let me know if this helps.

    Thumbs up Thank you!

I don't know if the speakers will accommodate them but you've definitely given me some new ideas!
