So I Pulled the Trigger, Got a Carver For now...

Couldn't pass it up, Gonna try this Carver for awhile, AV 505x...5 chan 80wpc, see how it does, fills both roles right now, should help on the 2 chan side and improve HT.

If you read my first post, decided to stick with Denon as a pre for now, being that it has 5.1 outs and 5.1 analog inputs.

Still probs going to snag an Adcom here in the next few days, and try that out also.:D

To be honest, the A7's are defo much more broke in now, was doing some critical listening the other night, and the Denon(from 1997) AVR 2600, really performed at high levels, actually seemed to perform better the more I pushed it, I almost re-thought the whole add an amp thing!

I was putting Pink Floyd's Division Bell through it's paces, A7's shook the house, don't know why some have said to add a sub, maybe they have poor amps, placement, or listened to crappy source material.

Soundstage was about 8ft high, and 7ft to either side, and they are spaced about8ft apart. But that is another post...:)

Let us know what you think of that 505. I am/was in the market for an amp recently and the 505 is one i was considering. The Adcom's have a great rep around here as well.

No problem, I had a Carver 20+ years ago, loved it, actually I have had two previously, had m 400 with an NAD pre back in the 80's...that one was awesome.

The 505 was after Bob left, hopefully it's as good.
