Files need the .flc extention to be recognized.

you could always try changing the file extensive to .flc from .flac.. pain in the ass, but it seems like the pioneer would recognize them then...

If the file extension is .flac, the the AVR won't recognize them. At least that was my experience. I had to write a script to rename all of them from .flac to .flc, then the AVR picked them up fine.

So what is the .flc file format? I thought it did do .flac , I don't do any of it myself and I have not run into it on any job. We always have a Apple TV and a Ipod of some sorts as part of the system.

let me know how you make out with this. I'll have to download some flac files and try this out , I'll also have to do some research on this .flc thing. Or someone could explain it to me

The FLIC file formats most known in the extension .FLI and .FLC, used to store animation files. It is similar to animated GIF. The FLIC animation format was originally developed by Autodesk for use with Autodesk Animator (FLI) and Autodesk Animator Pro (FLC).

Can not understand why the receiver can not read .flac. The .flc extension has nothing to do with free lossless audio codec.

I wonder if a firmware update for the reciever would help?
