what are the left and right inputs on the back of my powered subwoofer for?

Ive got a boston acoustics powered subwoofer for my home theater and am wondering what the left and right outputs that are on the back of it are for. The lfe comes from my receiver which i understand but what are the left and right outputs for? Do you get better bass output if you run 2 rca's into it or whats the deal? Also id like to get subwoofer usage while listening in stereo......how would i do that? I cant seem to find the right setting on my receiver either, its a pioneer elite sc-25 anybody who has any information would be very helpful in this matter. Thank-you!

For receivers that don't have a dedicated sub out that sums both channels, you can run R/L into it to ensure you get both sub signals.

I like listening to music in regular 2 channel stereo but would like to have a bit more bass so i want my subwoofer to kick on but it wont, is there a certain setting i should have it on; on my receiver or a setting that should be turned on? Any suggestions would help thanks!

If you run your L and R speaker outputs into your sub -- the sub will x-over will low pass the bass to your powered sub -- and pass the signal on to your speakers.

Now i do no know if it High-Passes the signal to your full range speakers or passes the entire signal.. My guess is the entire signal is passed on to your speakers.

In this way you switch from LFE mode to normal or some such setting... you powered sub should have a toggle switch.

My JBL PS10 does.
