Sorry Mike. Everything is still heading south back 'home', or so it seems. Hope you both bounce back quickly. And at least you have each other--there are always other doors that will open!

I hope she finds employment quickly. If not maybe she can take a break for awhile on the govt. (unemployment) and find out how she wants to proceed with the rest of her working life. Best of luck to you both!

Sorry to hear that, Mike. I'm hoping this will be a "when one door shuts, another opens" type situation.

    Best to you both.

Sorry to hear that Mike. Hopefully she will bounce back fairly quickly. Hang in there and use your music as therapy ;)
"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Differentiation by numbers is for those who do not".--Nelson Pass

Newspapers are dying all over the country and the only way they survive is with mergers or selling out. I was with the Seattle Times for 33 years and retired in 2001 (was in management and took a early out due to strike costs) and have seen this happen in most large cities, the combining of newspapers in order to survive. Advertising has taken it's $$$ and moved more and more from print to digital media. Advertising classifieds have gone online like craigslists and other digital media outlets. All of this has spelled the doom of newprint. Sorry, I know how this can impact a family espcially living in the islands.

Sad but true. A few members of my family worked for various papers in the region, they are all out of work now as the papers folded one by one. I can't think of the last time I picked up a newspaper. Haven't had one delivered since about 2000.

I also wish you both a pleasant transition with her career. I hope it's quick and she stays content.

Sorry to hear that Mike. I work in the newspaper industry too, so I know how that song goes. At least you live in Hawaii.

These things always end up working out for the best, but suck while you live through them. Hope you guys get through without much struggle.

I still support my local paper and have it delivered. I'm up at 05:15 , walk the dog out to the road and get the paper out of the box, back to the house with a cup of coffee and read the paper at 06:00 Monday thru Friday. Weekends, sleep in til 8 or so.

Sucks... but as an alternative, why don't you have the wife stay home and hor out that dog of yours. Puppies are big coin now a days, and yours makes some cute ones.

Sorry to hear Mike. Hoping for the best to both of you.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.
