    Default Ebay Mistake

So, I was bidding on one auction for a vintage HK receiver. My fiancee was watching my auction stuff while I was at work. The one I was bidding on exceeded our agreed max price, so she went to bid on the next item on the list. She accidentally bid on the next two items, and now I'm looking at having two vintage HK receivers show up; one tube, on solid state. Fortunately, I've got the money to cover both purchases, but I got a huge kick out the phone call I got at work with her freaking out about having accidentally spent 'all' my money. :)

No real harm done, just thought I would share a funny story.

Have you ever heard of a service like eSnipe? Set it and forget it, no mistakes, no over bidding and the cost is a whopping .01c per dollar paid for the item.

It amazes me that people actually "man" an auction placing bids and monitoring it in real time. eSnipe and similar services do this all for you. If you had been using eSnipe this never would have happened.

You think she can spend your money now, wait until you're married. This is just a training period.

Think of hunting vs buying your meat on line. ;)

Aha, but then I would have missed out on a few good laughs at work today. Also, I may get the tube one restored all nice and give it to my dad for his birthday, which would solve another one of my conundrums (what do you buy for someone who has everything?). And, guilt over this incident will probably get me out of a trip to the movie theatre. All in all, I've really lost nothing.

I like Gixen. It's free tryware, and I liked it so much, I paid the 6 bucks for the year. It definitely made that back in spades just in a single auction.

    I like funny stories...

Although I'm thinking about Ben right now, I had a funny thing (story) happen yesterday. These funny things in our lives help balance out the bad stuff and hopefully more funny or strange out weigh the bs.

I think your HK gear will sound pretty good. I agree with some other posters; I also have the NAD stuff and it's neutral to warm sounding also.

Let us know, we'll be waiting..;)
Most people just listen to music and watch movies . I am glad to be a part of a select group that tries to take our auditory and visual senses to a higher level: we EXPERIENCE them.... GOT SDA?...GOT SUNFIRE? ...GOT Maggies?

Good(ish) news! In the last 15 minutes, I got outbid on the tube amp. I was going to go ahead and buy it for a few bucks more, since I had already readjusted my budget to include that purchase, but then I noticed that the price had gone up by almost $100!

All's well that ends well, eh?

Laugh the whole time, man. It makes the strikes easier to deal with.
