Default Holy Cow, Rega Planet for $50!

I am visiting my girlfriend in Gainesville, and curiosity made me check craigslist. I saw Rega Planet ( I've heard/read about this cd player many times before) and then saw $50 obo....I am a bit hesitant because of the cdp's age, but my NAD failed and this is supposed to be an excellent player. What do you think? Retailed for $795 in mid-1990's. Stereophile review is linked in the ad. He even has the original box!

Offer $40 and jump on it. You won't go wrong for so little $$.

Jump on it before someone else does.

Great cdp for the money, they still go for a couple hundred last I knew.

I sent the guy an email. I was just hesitant because of the age; its older than the broken NAD it would replace (1999 vs. 1996). However, I am intrigued by the principle of the player and I like the top-loading design. Hopefully he still has it!

Get it! Yes, they go for far more on Audiogon. They've always had supreme reviews. I have it's newer brother, the Apollo, & it's great.
