Comments on this gear please

Hi all...

I'm not sure I'm buying what he's selling...it is Mitsubishi gear, but then again, I didn't know Sony made great speakers until I heard my SSM7's. Any comments on this stuff? http://cnj.craigslist.org/ele/1850364135.html

Someone actually contacted me about something he saw in a for sale ad of mine on craigslist and wanted to trade his stuff for mine. I told him I didn't think so, but I'd better find out more about it before I do.

Mitsubishi did make some pretty good gear, but I think he has inflated values in his head if he is trying to trade for McIntosh gear.

I'm finding it very hard to find info on this gear other than a few small comments on some websites. Anything more that people can add, including possible value, I'd appreciate.

The tuner has a writeup at FMtunerinfo (worth maybe $100 by itself)

Someone sold a whole set (with the matching Mitsu preamp) for only $550 here:

The Arcam preamp may be worth 3-400 by itself. My guess, the whole setup is worth $6-700, but I would also say that the seller thinks its worth higher.

I had this model poweramp w/o the meter attachment many years ago. Had a lot of good power but not the most audiophile presentation. Used it with my NAD 3020 using the pre out and driving a pair of Monitor 7Bs. Actually liked the much lower power of the NAD 3020 as an integrated better. I will comment that the amp had been repaired one time before I aquired it for $150.00 around 1993 I think. Ended up giving it to a fellow employee who on the weekends was a DJ for "RAVES" in Chi town in 2000. It was out of my system more than in it during the entire time I owned it.

Mitsubishi made the best tube TV, bar none, back in the day.
