I disagree wholeheartedly. I felt the last two episodes were two of the best in the series so far. Both did a much better job of capturing the vibe of the comics. Any good zombie narrative should focus on man vs man - the "zombie apocalypse" just serves as a backdrop to drive home to what extremes mankind will go in such circumstances.

And no... I don't think the zombie scenes were shoe-horned in. I thought they were used effectively to showcase two "enemies" interactions during a cease fire. Darryl and the other guy probably had more in common with each other than they do with others in their own groups. It was a dynamic that was interesting to watch and very poignant when they both acknowleged that eventually they would have to turn their guns on each other in the end.

Nicely put! I enjoy when they put the zombies down, but it's to the point now that I love this show for the man vs man interaction. For example, the hitchhiker 2 episodes ago, if this were season 1 they would have stopped on a dime to help the guy. Now, Rick and Michone didn't even bat an eye at the guy. These post apocalyptic shows are interesting to me in seeing how humans change when faced with these situations. To what lengths with people go to survive? How about Morgan 2 episodes ago...the only person you care about in the world is suddenly taken from you. What does that do to a person in a world like that.

I think many folk get too hung up on just wanting to see zombies get slaughtered every week. The deep human story is what makes Walking Dead a total winner in my book!

I enjoyed the last episode. I believe the main reason for the slowdown last couple episodes has to do with budget. Saving money for the season ending show. Mearle had the right idea. Get the Gov before he comes knockin.

Tyrese....who know whats going to happen, but these last two weeks are going to be good. Glad to see they stepped away from the prison and gave Andrea a little air time. Was a shocker at the end when the prison was in sight.

If you're chasing someone into a building, wouldnt you lock the doors or at MINIMUM take the keys with you? I would. I kept thinking 'slash his tires' since she had a knife, but of course that would be too easy.

Anyway, the big "no way" in this episode for me is she loses him running through a wooded area, yet he knows exactly where she was at?

Also, it bothers me how the walkers repeatedly sneak up on people. Like when she was hiding in the trees. There's leaves all over the ground and they don't pick up their feet and they moan loud as hell. How could they sneak up on anyone?

I thought this was the weakest episode of the season so far. The whole "teleporting zombie" thing may have finally jumped the shark. And some of Andrea's lines were downright laughable. Her chastising Milton for not "opening up his eyes to what the Governor is really doing" bordered on slapstick. The final scene with her strapped to a torture chair while some god-awful Nu Rock plays in the background was more like something you'd see on a third-rate thriller drama on one of the Big Three networks.

And the Governor was supposed to hear a can of paint being knocked over inside the building over the engine of his monster-crushin', zombie destroyin' big rig??? What the hell?

Yeah... Perfect example would be when Andrea was against the tree and got caught from behind. It appears that either zombies can teleport or they are ninjas. I suppose the first scenario is a bit more likely.

This series seems to operate under the rules that if the camera doesn't show a zombie, then the character on screen can in no way hear them - no matter HOW close they are.

Even though EVERYONE knew it was coming. Backed up against a forked tree + camera angle zooms in + sigh of relief = zombie coming up.

Funny thing is the comics actually differentiate between the louder zombies and the more "stealth" zombies - with the nicknames "walkers" and "lurkers", respectively. However, "lurkers" are by nature stationary - but all the more dangerous for being so easily overlooked.

That was not a "lurker" that grabbed Andrea. It was more likely a zombie, ninja, unicorn hybrid wearing padded shoes.

Yea, it would have been much more believable had the zombie been sitting up against the back of the tree. Maybe catch a glimpse of his leg when she was running towards the trees when she had her eyes on the truck. Maybe showed a couple more zombies following her after seeing the commotion, but far enough away to not be a threat.

Then, as she goes to walk away the zombie grabs her leg, she trips, maybe hurts herself in the process - etc. Then the other zombies that weren't a threat are getting close to her...etc etc.

Maybe I should be a writer.

I agree that there is some slapstick type stuff written into the show. But, all in all, this is one of the most entertaining and well written shows I have seen in a very long time. I like the fact that there is constant suspense even with the cheesiness factor. The zombie behind the tree part and the Governor having superhuman hearing above the rumble of his magnaflow mufflers on his truck reminds me of the 24 episodes where Jack Bauers daughter was being tracked by a mountain lion for 5 episodes!!! Still love the show, though.

I thought the rat decoys were genius though. As well as zombie traps with rats as bait. Stuff like Michonne going back into the diner doesn't bother me that much. Just makes you use your imagination.

Another thing I don't understand...why don't they kill the zombies in the prison yard. I can understand it a little now, because going out in the yard would expose them to possibly being shot from the governor's henchmen...a little. But before, the zombies just line up against the fence. Michonne has a sword...walk up to the fence, stab them in the head. Done. So now, instead of having the 8 or so zombies 'dropped off' by the Governor, they have 30 zombies because they couldn't kill zombies through a fence. Would literally take a few minutes to kill the whole herd.

The last episode had me asking WTF a few times. Didn't really think much on the Ninja zombies, but her not taking the truck or at least searching it for a weapon made me think "wtf is wrong with her?". Although her using the trapped walkers to escape was a brilliant idea.

Rick and his crew better do something soon to head off an attack on the prison because that 50cal is going to rip right through the walls..

I thought it was kinda cool too. However, I still had to ask how she knew every single one of them had poured thru before darting out that door. Did she do a quick headcount when she first looked? I know it may seem like I'm nitpicking here (and this series has asked the viewer to suspend disbelief on quite a few occasions), but this episode was particularly egregious. Maybe I'm the only one who feels this way? Everyone else seemed to like it well enough.

Yea, it would've saved them a lot of grief if it showed her jogging out of the building and finding the truck locked...but still...SLASH THE TIRES!
