I've really enjoyed using other Shuguang Treasure tubes (300B & 6CA7) and think they are well worth the money; a great alternative to classic NOS.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm really excited about trying out the new CV181Z.

If you've heard the Electro Harmonix 6CA7, can you describe the difference between them and the Shuguang 6CA7?
Also, if you've had experience with the Sophia Electric 300B mesh plates, I'm wondering how they sound compared to Shuguang.
I will be playing around with the 300B, 6SN7 and EL34 next week when I pick up some new equipments.

I've only compared standard Shuguang and stock 300B/6AC7 tubes verses the Treasure versions, and it was a good improvement. I have other NOS tubes, but not those models.

I've read good comparisons between NOS and the Treasure tubes though, and the reviews ring true with me.

I should be getting a Shuguang Treasure 845 amp next month that uses Treasure 300B, CV181, and Red Label 845. I'll be able to give you some listening impressions then of the CV181 and other Treasure combinations.

Wow! My signals are usually rocking after about 20-50 hrs of burn in. Had no idea some could take so long. Thanks for bringing that up.

FWIW,I have the EH 6CA7's in my amp,,much better bass(tighter) than the EL34's that I was using(Tesla old style/white lettering,,not JJ),,I have not heard the shuggies,but Jesse assures me that they(Shuggies) take it to another level.I'll have a quad of them soon and I'll report back,say this fall.Quite some burn in time,,eh?

I have the EH as well. You should also give the new KT77's a try. IMO it's much tighter than the EH6CA7. I've tried the JJ KT77 but haven't tried the Gold Lion yet. I'm gonna enjoy comparing the Shuggies with the JJ.

a smart guy who does Hi-Fi designs here in the US told me yesterday the china tubes all come from the same factory and are just rebadged!!!

same guy likes the russian as the tubes display more constant plate voltages and so on........

so when I said this mishap or that happened when I was using this or that Russain tube.....he said......well, perhaps he does not have sufficient data......gawd.....designer geeks, of course the Russians copied everything to start with.

You are correct; most of the Chinese tubes come from the Shuguang factory.

LOL:D I"ve had some Russian KT66 where the plates kept glowing, even after 2 replacements.
Looks like these Treasure series and new re-issues are on a different level. Hell, they better be because they cost so much more.

If I remember correctly, there are 2 companies making tubes in China. Shuguang is the bigger player. The re-branders of Chinese tubes are Groove Tubes, Ruby and a few others. Most of them are re-labeled Shuguangs.
