Default MIT Terminator 3 Speaker Cable

Yes, I know these are older, but wanted to try them out before I spent some coin on the new stuff.

Purchased these off a guy for a really good price. And they are immaculate, I wonder if he even used them! The connectors are like new, fit nice and snug all the way round. Network boxes are bigger than I expected!

I first listened to my current cable ( 14awg copper/silver) for a bit for reference, then switched one cable out. Noticeable difference, a little more detail and presence. Switched the other one out, much better sound staging, little more dynamic, transparency was definitely added. Separation is outstanding. One benefit is even more taming of the RTi tweeter. Very smooth now, not the speaker I started out with 6 months ago! Very revealing and delicate on the HF. Much more airiness, but yet very accurate open.

The bass?, well even tighter and more detailed. Very defined, couldn't be happier.

I wish some of you lived close, so you could experience these now, I don't think you would peg these as the bright, harsh speakers you have heard before. Very musical.

With all that said, I do believe it is all very subjective to the system and components. I think have just been lucky, if you call luck researching my butt off!

Next move will be to switch out the center when I move it into the dedicated HT room, but I think the real improvement I can achieve at this point will be to upgrade the amp. I think I have maxed my 2 chan, short of spending a lot more on a transport, or completely separating my HT from 2 chan, (which I will eventually:D) But right now I am loving the sound. Well, and a sub for HT.

Here some pics of the cables...And the Harmony One with it for ref..wife wants to know why the garden hose is hooked up to the speakers!:D

Ric5811 those look very nice. Massive cables. Are you still using the shorting bars that come with the speakers or do they have a jumper that is not visible in this picture?

Just wondering with high dollar cables like this if some sort of jumper instead of the shorting bars would make a difference?

Using the standard jumpers right now, I looked for some bi wire versions, didn't find any, personally I don't think it would make much difference. But when I upgrade I will do bi wire on speaker end.

The Terminator series, even when new, were not really high dollar cables.

That said, changing the jumper straps to good cable makes a noticeable improvement.

+1 Give it a shot. Even a simple 14ga will sound better than brass jumpers. Congrats on the new cables.

I might try it here eventually. Some people say it does, others don't.

It's likely at least some of those same people would tell you the speaker cables wouldn't make a difference, either.

That said, congrats on the cables. Synergy is a pain to find, but pays off huge if/when you do.

If you want some pretty reasonable jumpers, the anti-cable jumpers are pretty good and under $30 a pair.
