What about the cop who drove into the pole that the bus driver had to miss. Seems he messed up that Tahoe pretty good!
Stinks that a favorite eating spot is out of commission for a while. It always makes you want to go more often.
I know just enough to be dangerous, but don't tell my wife, she thinks I'm a genius. :D

I don't think they hit the pole themselves. I heard that the bus swerved but hit the cops and they ended up striking the pole.
I wouldn't doubt that the driver just got done his run and was speeding back to the garage like they always do. I've watch out of service SEPTA buses run red lights at that time of the morning. Thing is, center city Philly is tight. Buildings are usually less than 12 feet from the curb and that makes for many blind corners. Speeding in Philly and running lights is pretty much a death wish.
Then again, most of the streets in center city were not designed for cars. They were designed for horse drawn carriages when there weren't carriages parked along the sides of the road. Most streets are more than 3 cars wide. That's why most streets are one way.
I did too, but then I was perusing the gallery link and in picture 15 you can see the Tahoe nailed the pole head on.
I see what you are saying about the streets being so narrow though. Pretty much an accident waiting to happen. At least you have a cool downtown type area, Dallas is kind of lacking in that arena.
I saw the pictures and what I'm saying is that the Tahoe was hit by the bus and then hit the pole head on. The bus hit the Tahoe while trying to swerve and then ran in to the building. Either way, the bus was completely at fault because the police were responding to an emergency situation and had the right of way no matter what the traffic situation was.
It's still being investigated anyway so who knows what they are going to say.
Bummer! Reaching way back in my memory cells, I seem to remember it just being called Monk's or maybe Monk's Cafe. I don't remember the Monk's Belgian Cafe. Am I thinking of another establishment?
