Default Help Mounting Monitor 40's Front Height

Any suggestions? I was going to just settle for 30's but I really want to use the 40's. I've been browsing and liked the BT-77 brackets but I think the monitor 40's are slightly to big for it. I want to mount them above my tv since I just bought the Pioneer VSX-1120-K and use them as front height speakers.

Also, I'm assuming if they are mountable I will have to drill holes in the back of the speakers. What are the side effects of that if any? Thanks.

I checked out the 40's specs and the BT77's will work fine.

    Enjoy:)

I used the AM40 Pinpoint Mounts for my Monitor 40's. And instead of drilling the holes to attach the speaker to the bracket I used Velcro along the bottom. Has been working great so far and I dont have holes in my speakers :)

Alright sounds good. But EndersShadow just to follow up... velcro? 40's are huge! Just wanted to double check on that. How you went about doing it all I guess.

Also thanks everyone for the tips. I appreicate it :)

Yup, I used big patches of velcro that ran across the front of the bracket and the back (since it dips in the middle that would have been pointless). It works great! You still have to use the clamps, but I found that the back of the speaker had a tendency to pull up and away from the mount (see the guide on this forum somewhere with pics to see what I am talking about). Adding that back section of velcro kept it flush w/ the bracket and the clamps do the rest.

I think there are different strenghts of velco (if strengths is the right word...) I seem to remember that there are some kinds of velcro that are really strong for things that are meant to pretty much stay put....not detach and re attach over and over again.

Do you buy that velcro at hardware stores like Home Depot or Lowes?
