Picked up 'Checkerboard Lounge'- a CD -DVD set of a Muddy Waters show in 1981 at the Checkerboard Lounge in the south side of Chicago. The Rolling Stones show up and jam with him. All blues, great footage if your a Stones fan. Decent recording: they knew the Stones were coming and wanted it documented by the looks of it. Other blues legends play as well including Buddy Guy. Just love it.

Just yesterday I ordered a EBM vinyl I had in the 80s that got stolen. Not many pressings and wasn't that big but I really like it. I found it at a record store in Chicago and looking forward to it arriving next week. Artillerymen - Unity.

Diana Krall - Glad Rag Doll deluxe edition CD (3 extra songs). Excellent songs, excellent performance, pretty poor recording (can clearly hear hiss from about 3 feet at moderate volumes).
Jazz at the Pawnshop - 30th anniversary edition 3-SACD + 1 DVD set. Good music choice, but I guess I expected something amazing out of this world. I only played a CD layer of the first disc in the living room (Marantz 2250 + B&W DM600i), and CD sounds very clinical and very little energy. Will try to run it in the theater (SACD on Oppo) to see if SACD will make these discs sound more natural and lively.

I went to my local spin shack today where I buy Licorice Pizza. Nothing new.
However, she says they are having a sale on cd's...buy 3 get one free. I figured since I now have the Marantz through a DAC and it sounds awesome...wouldn't hurt to pick up a few discs. Plus she had just gotten in a nice selection from a guy.

C'mon y'all can do better than that, HELL YEAH!!!
Crazy prices !!!
Hey, guys! I honestly think the seller forgot to put in his minimum reserve or something. The lowest price I have seen this CD listed in the past 3 or 4 months was something like $320.00 or somewhere near that. Whatever it was, it was too damned expensive for me. I already have a couple of versions but curiosity and constantly seeking better always gets the best of me. IIRC, they retailed for $29.00 back in 1992 before I even knew what DCC was. So, to pay only $40.00 over retail [minus the cost of inflation since then] some 2 decades plus later for an OOP CD like this? Yeah, I'm good with it.

Hello, astar13656. I actually forgot to chime back in and update this. Apparently, that wasn't as good of a deal as I thought. $40.00 seems to be the average going price for that CD. Had I done just a little bit of research, I would have found this out. While I'm still fine with $75.00, I could have used the add'l dollars saved to acquire more music. A suggestion I rec'd after my purchase of that CD [which is a really, really good remastering BTW] was to run a search on the latest closed auctions. It turned out that two of the same exact CD's sold prior to mine went for $40.00.
BTW, AFAIK....there are two different gold CD's offered of Hotel California. One is a DCC and the other is a Japanese print. The one I got was the DCC and even though I could have gotten it for less, the sound quality is worth every bit of $75.00 to me. When I got it in, I actually listened to the album in it's entirety 3 times in a row, This, after listening to the entire album once the day prior. Still, lesson learned.
