Default SDA 2B project almost complete

Got my crossovers back from Ben yesterday, and will get them installed today. Big change from the original crossovers! So far I've replaced the tweeters, Dynamat to MW's and PR's, mortite with Larry's retainers, and new binding posts. I'll install these babies today, and start the burn in process. Can't wait to hear these 2btl's sing :)

F1Nut suggested Ben when I was looking for someone to do the Crossovers, and he told me to make sure to have him do all Sonicaps. From what I've read here on the forum, that is the best choice for this. :) Now to get them burned in! I'll be playing the 300 Disk CD player through them for the best part of the days, as well as the Sat receiver. Even at 12 hours a day it'll take 16-25 days!

enjoy the burn-in process! mine at first sounded great! then, they went flat. then, the soundstage and sda opened up wide, but the bass was thin. now, all is really sweet. i have all sonicaps too. the big cap though, is a dayton.

last night, i installed the rings...at low-low volumes, i can hear a difference! soundstage and midrange are more pronounced..

wife was sick in bed, so i couldn't open the throttle too much..i'll report back when i can have a good review session

OMG!!!!!! The bass!! Can't believe how much there is now. With the 2A's I had to run about +3 db on bass, but the way they are right now, I'm running it flat, and can feel the bass! No need for a sub in stereo mode, that's for sure! From what everyone says, after these are broken in they will sound even better! I'm so very impressed with how they are starting out. Can't wait for them to get broken in. :)

Sonicaps may not be "the best" but are a great choice instead of spending 10 or 20 times the money chasing a marginal 1/2 percent increase in performance on something like Dueland's. :D

Try a pair, you would be surprised.

I believe it, but I'm not quite ready to spend what they get for those little cast suckers. I think the 5.8uf that 2B TL's need are $450 or so each. Back to the point that Sonicaps are crazy affordable for what you get.
