    Default It sucks getting old

I came home wednesday and went to make a pitcher of instant tea and couldn't find the jars in the pantry cabinet.
As I looked around I also noticed I was missing coffee and large cans of juice and vegetables out of the same cabinet.
I was pissed off thinking someone had come in and stolen stuff from my cabinets. Freaked out a little about it.
I went and changed locks, deadbolts, security code, and bought window locks and new sliding door locks. I spent a few hundred bucks to secure the cave again.
    Mystery solved to my amazement.
I'd washed up a bunch of ball caps and my old USMC covers the day before and used the cans to "shape" my caps and covers.
It all came back clear as day once I'd discovered my memory fart.
I wonder what else I've forgotten now.

I hear ya...there are times I can't remember my own phone number, but ask me about a song from 40 years ago, I can recite the lyrics like it was yesterday.

Yea, walk from one room to the other and forget what the hell you were looking for in the first place. Set down your coffee mug and later wonder where is it? Going somewhere and need your wallet, can't find it and after looking for 10 minutes or so, discover that it is in your back pocket. Good thing the SS and retirement checks go to direct depost.

I here ya' about getting old. I had planned on attending an Alzheimer's meeting the other day but I forgot when it was. Apparently nobody else showed up either.

I'm sure I'm forgetting about a lot of things as I get older. I'm in my 60's now but some things I hope I don't ever forget about. Then again...when/if I get so old not to be able to do anything about it...then let me forget..

Alzheimers isn't all bad, every day you meet new people. My son said "dad what did you get me for my birthday" and I said, "Who the hell are you?"

Here is a little joke for us old(er) guys;)
TWO OLD MEN DECIDE THEY ARE CLOSE TO THEIR LAST DAYS AND DECIDE TO HAVE A LAST NIGHT ON THE TOWN. AFTER A FEW DRINKS, THEY END UP AT THE LOCAL BORTHEL.

THE MADAM TAKES ONE LOOK AT THE TWO OLD GEEZERS AND WHISPERS TO HER MANAGER, GO UP TO THE FIRST TWO BEDROOMS AND PUT AN INFLATED DOLL IN EACH BED.

THESE TWO ARE SO OLD AND DRUNK. I'M NOT WASTING TWO OF MY GIRLS ON THEM.

    THEY WON'T KNOW THE DIFFERENCE.

THE MANAGER DOES AS SHE IS TOLD AND THE TWO OLD MEN GO UPSTAIRS AND TAKE CARE OF THEIR BUSINESS.

AS THEY ARE WALKING HOME THE FIRST MAN SAYS, YOU KNOW, I THINK MY GIRL WAS DEAD!

DEAD, SAYS HIS FRIEND, WHY DO YOU SAY THAT?

WELL, SHE NEVER MOVED OR MADE A SOUND ALL THE TIME I WAS LOVING HER.

HIS FRIEND SAYS, COULD BE WORSE, I THINK MINE WAS A WITCH.
A WITCH, WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU SAY THAT?

WELL, I WAS MAKING LOVE TO HER, KISSING HER ON THE NECK, AND I GAVE HER A LITTLE BITE, THEN SHE FARTED AND FLEW OUT THE WINDOW...... AND TOOK MY TEETH WITH HER!

WAAAAAAAAAAAAA! I'm glad I'm not the only one! The other day I went looking for the milk in the fridge and found a box of cereal! After questioning my wife and son in a not so calm way (they have a habit of moving things around and not putting them back where they belong), it turns out when I used the milk and cereal that morning, I put the milk in the cupboard and cereal in the fridge!:o Luckily it was still cold.

Needless to say I had to tuck my tail between my legs and go crawling back to my wife and son to admit the mistake and take back the 3rd degree!:D

It's like Bill Cosby once said, "When we get older our memory moves to our behinds! You're sitting on a couch, you go into the bedroom to get something, you get to the bedroom and forgot what it was you wanted to get. You go back to the couch and as soon as you butt touches the couch you remember what it was you wanted!" LOL!!!!

That's the one! Same brain fart on my end.
Seriously, I bought vitamins to improve my memory and keep forgetting to take them.
I've turned into a creature of habits and when my routine is broken and I have to concentrate on a couple of things at once I'm prone to a fork up!
And the "Fork Up" fairy has been visiting all too often lately.

At least there is a good side to all of this. You only need one book to read, one movie to watch, and one song to listen to. Look at all the money you will save, however you do have to remember what money is.

"and if you do get it to the stove you burn it"
I was cleaning the controls on one of my old Luxman 3045s, cooking a late lunch for me and my son, and suddenly I'm reminded I'm cooking by the loud sizzles and smell of burning stir fry chicken.
The controls came out smooth though I really despise TV dinners as "Plan B"

HEY! BTW, I loaned out two phono preamps and I can't remember who has them. I figure that they're local. One is a Modded Realistic I hadn't even burned the caps in yet but the one I'm concerned about is my PS Audio PS III I had PS Audio rebuild and upgrade.
IF you have them let me know. I don't need them but I'd like to know where they are. LOL!
