Speaker placement advise, bipoles

Hi Guys

I'm moving my system to a new room - and need some advise as to where to place the bipoles. The two doors into the room have made placement difficult.

Below is a picture of where I'm thinking of placing them, bipoles in yellow - the viewing couch will then be inline with them.

Setup is as follows:
2x RTi A9's
1x CSi A6
2x FXi A6
1x Onkyo TX-NR807
1x Optoma HD20

No sub yet, but thinking of doing an IB. (any other suggestions on setup appreciated).

Where is your seating? TV? Perhaps you could simplify your drawing. What is the red box?

Red box was to cut off the room - the original picture is of the entire house plan.

Seating is inline with the yellow box... about 50cm behind that is the glass door as seen in the second picture.

I'll try draw a simpler picture in MS Paint :)

Here is a smaller one with where I plan to mount the bipoles, is there a potential problem with them being so close to the back wall? It seems to be the only place where they can be inline, and still leave a decent space between seating and the screen.

Looks good to me, that is inline with where I have my FXi 4's and they do the job! Not many options for us with an opening so close to the back wall.
Where your left speaker is sitting, try to place it back so that it at least can be directed off of the side wall and not out of the dining room opening. By the looks of your pictures you should be able to do that with out having to stuff it in the back wall corner. Ensure you select di-pole setting if they are directly beside where you are sitting and if they are behind you but still faing in select bi-pole. Of course if you like the sound on either setting them use that one! :)

Another option is to run them bi-pole facing towards the screen and put them on the back wall! Just a thought. Unless of course you are thinking of 7.1 and will run some rears facing the screen in the future.

Thanks - didn't even think of that (RE: placing them slightly back) - I was going to put them inline with the door opening.

Couches arrive tomorrow... so I'll have a better idea of room layout.

And then on Thursday my HD20 arrives :)

I had mine on the back wall and didnt like the surround effects.... Couple of other ideas for your room - get a large carpet and some heavy duty curtains to cover the glass sliding door to tone down the reflections in the room. And cleaning up the dog food on the floor also makes your system sound better...:p
