    Default SDA Names

Is there any significance or relative history to the naming of the SDA SRS models?
    1.2
    2.3
    3.1
Do they have any meaning or are they just random model numbers???

I have too often wondered this.

1, 2, 3 pecking order by model (left of the decimal point) and .1, .2 version number (right of the decimal point).

A lower model number was designed to be a bigger/better speaker, and a higher version number an improvment.

I get the pecking order. Just wasn't sure after the decimal point.

Not sure I follow you Sport. After the deciaml point is the version number ??

Kind of like windows in the early days. 3.0 then 3.1. The higher the number after the Decimal the better the version.

Yeah, I don't think so as there never was an SDA 3 or 3.0 or 1.0 or 1.1 or 2.0 or 2.1 or 2.2

I don't see any correlation between the model numbers and any sort of pecking order when it comes to the decimal point.

Here's the model number pecking order, now maybe a numerologist can make sense of it, but I can't

    SDA 1
    SDA 2
    SDA 1A
    SDA 2A
    SDA 1B
    SDA SRS 2
    SDA 2B
SDA CRS and CRS+ (Compact Reference System)
    SDA 1C
    SDA SRS
    SDA SRS 1.2 and 1.2TL
SDA SRS 2.3 and 2.3 TL
SDA SRS 3.1TL no non-TL model

So you tell me how that is a linear pecking order that makes any sort of sense to someone unfamiliar with SDA's?

But then why not 1.1 or 2.1 instead of 1.2 and 2.3? I'm sure there is an internal reason. It's just not that apparent to the consumer. Just like the new LSi series has a different model designation and it's an internal thing as to why and what the letters mean.

All I would ask is that you you go to your Compendium or DarqueKnights thread at . . .

    http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55888

and spend a while opening and studying the linked Adobe Acrobat .pdf files.

Then tell me, for instance, how drawing Number P0161001 corresponds to P0161002 and what P0162003 or P0163001 mean?

    Oh, Really . . . ? Imagine that!

Now, can somebody edit out all of the **** between my answer in post # 2 and this post?

    P.S. Note the OP asked about 1.2, 2.3, 3.1
