Back from Smoky Mountains: Pics

Well we are home from our vacation:( We definitely did many of the things some of you had mentioned to us, as well as many others. We spent most of our time in the mountains, lots of hiking. We didn't spend much time in town, especially Pigeon Forge...way too touristy to our liking lol. But the mountains, absolutely beautiful!!! We had a great time, just a little sore from all the hiking lol, although doing much better then many fellow hikers whom were not at all prepared for hiking...passed many people telling us they thought they will keel over and die lol. Couldn't believe how many people we saw in capri pants and flip flops on the harder trails I also loved the roads:D:D My fiance didn't like them as much as I did, definitely some expletives were heard from her while i was acting like I was Michael Shumacher Although even she couldn't believe how slow some people were driving, I guess they didn't notice any of the hundreds of lower vehicles please pull off into designated pull off signs to allow people to pass We will definitley be going back!!!:) Few pics, no pics from Grotto Falls or Mt. Leconte, we noticed they were very blurry for some reason. shouldve checked more carefully after we took the pics:o

good pictures, I think I ave been to half of those places myself, great area, I agree, stay the hell away from Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburge is a little easier to take but still too touristy

The one waterwheel grist mill house looks like Cades' Cove for sure.

Was a real nice hike with some beautiful views that's for sure. We went later in the day so we ended up being by ourselves at the top. It was great just the 2 of us sitting up at the top by ourselves, and yes we climbed up the rocks to the top:D

Of course....you have to do that. Thats like the best part :). That and then swimming in the river at the bottom when your done to clean off... :)

Yeah....I love passing people with flip flops, a bunch of jewelry (men and women), smoking a cigarette, trying to talk on their cell phone, drinking a canned beverage, etc. Welcome to the great outdoors...

Of course they usually only last for a few hundred yards past the parking lot or trailhead, so you blow by them pretty quickly.

Of course "Michael", you did pay strict attention to the 35 mph (or less - 20 mph in Cades Cove, Roaring Fork, etc) speed limit in the park at all times...right? ;)

Ofc:p Actually in Cades Cove I don't even think we got above 10 mph lol. It was very congested, lot of bicycles as well. And on our way up on Clingman's Dome Rd there was an older gentleman in a new vette, we didn't get above 20 mph

Cool ain't it,,I sat on the "outcropping" of rocks at the top too,, I think I hear them calling me again.Glad you had a wonderful experience. :)

Thank you! Definitely a great way to relax and release some stress of our daily lives, just sitting atop a mountain in peace and quiet:)
