Other than the obvious application of using this wire in high temperature environments are there any perceivable benefits in using PTFE vs PVC.

I believe it is a better insulator, but in very short runs I don't know if this really matters.

Are there any downsides, other than cost, for using PTFE vs. PVC such as greater difficulty in stripping?
