Default Need some comments/suggestions on my setup.

Alright, this is my soon to be first HT setup, after doing some homework here and there around the net, I think I have decided on most parts. I will just list them and then post my concerns or questions about them after..

L/R speakers : RTiA7's (already picked them up)

    Center : CSiA6

    Rears : Debating between 2 here : The RTiA3's or the FXiA4's.

    Receiver : Denon AVR-991

Now, my main questions to you all would be thoughts and comments on the rear channels? I really can't decide there. Pro's, con's between the two?

Also, I'm not sure I have heard a lot of Polk's with Denon, can anyone tell me what kind of sound I can expect out of it? Bright? Warm? If someone has any other suggestions for the receiver that one is not 100% set in stone yet. (but please let me know WHY you're recommending something else)

The other thing I was wondering if I should be thinking of a 2 channel amp for the front towers? I mean, I don't really want to skimp on anything I want to do this right, sorry for any noob questions and thanks for your time :)

Among other things, I run a secondary HT off a Denon 280X series with two Rti-A3s, CSi3 upfront (coming soon) and Rti-4s (surrounds) in a small to medium room. The Rtis are definitely NOT too forward as they are on some other AVRs. In general the Denon warms up Rtis which have a tendency to be a little bright and forward. It does not tame them completely but is a good compromise, keeping some of the HT dynamism with a bit more musicality than some other AVRs.

A two channel amp definitely helps Rti towers and the Denon makes a nice pre/pro for a HT AVR!

I guess you are building a 5.1 system. I like having FXs' in my setup. I feel that the the sound is more enveloping and harder to pinpoint.

I love how my polks sound with the Pioneer elite receiver.

I've briefly heard the FXs in surround mode at buddy's place and they blew my RTi4s out of the water.

Isn't Pioneer and Denon owned by the same umbrella company? Whether they are, or aren't, I'm sure they still have their own sound characteristics. Just wondering...as it's totally off topic.

I had an rti setup and think that the fxi line is a must have for any serious HT setup

Fxi represent amazing performance for price, they sound awesome for sides or back surrounds . Denon would sound awesome as would pioneer and onkyo with your speakers

Cant remember what mag but a reviewer called them the budwiser of the speakers because they are king and sound great with everything

My Denon 3311 definitely sounds warmer w/ the RTi A7s / CSi A6 / RTi A1s than the previous Yamaha 663.

I would stick with FX's for surrounds. They really help to diffuse the soundfield in the rear, and I personally like that. Some people don't, but I would say you are on the right track!
