    Default Sansui TU-9900 tuner

    On ebay, 19 hours to go, and it's already at $670.

    I bet it will hit darn close to $1000.

    Nice, nice tuner . {sigh}

    Well, back to scouring craigslist.

    I found a CL ad for a Sansui TU-X1 this summer under the ad title "old tuner," for $40 or so. My heart skipped a beat, I composed an email that didn't sound too desperate, and... heard nothing back. Sent a 2nd email, still nothing. Either someone got an amazing score, or (my personal theory) the person who wrote the ad was just goofing on a local friend that has high-end tuner lust.

    Oh well! Good luck with your searching.

    Nice find for the OTA enthusiast. I wonder what the Vertical and Horizontal multipath outputs are all about?

    As well it should have !

    The vertical and horizontal outputs are meant for hooking up an O-scope's inputs to align an outdoor antenna.
    With this tuner (and some other TOTL tuners), that's not just a bell-and-whistle function; it would/could actually be useful.

    Thanks, seems like I can recall a seeing a classic tuner some years back with an O-scope built in for this purpose.

    In this day and age of HD Radio the FM multipath problem seems to pretty much go away.

    Interesting that the winner of this auction could have had the tuner for a $100 less with buy-it-now right from the beginning. Lucky seller.

    Marantz made several tuners that had the O-scope built in.

    Buy it know was at least 599. from what i see, Still got a great tuner for the coin. Like always it will sound better with new caps,resisters and an alignment.
